I don't think this poem is quite a limerick but it has a tiny taste of one! (I realize you never said it was) It seems spring fever is for every age. Nice use of end rhymes. I enjoyed this spunky poem.

My only suggestion is to make 'rung' plural. I think it would sound better, but either way, this is a poem with a positive message, and I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for being willing to share it.
