Wow! How many, beautiful, happy, suffering insights are behind those coloured edged- cutting, handed tools! What ephemeral joyful childhood's epiphanies pop out as I think of the time spent together with a pencil writing or sharpening one!

Thank you, Alchera. Funny how a poem about pencils can resonate with us. Like you said, there is something about a sharpened pencil. The little hand tool are inspiring.

You are the sharpest pencil of them all with your inviting thematic subjects. thank you for this 1 I,too, was a teacher once!I loved good cultural frindship! You will always be welcomed, Debbie! Blessings!

Thank you for that. I needed kind words today.

I know what you mean on some days that start badly since dawn for a reason or for another! Be calm for the rest of the day and enjoy tiny things has it goes by like an innocent smile of a baby. Blessings!

Good job on this 2-4-2. Like all craftsmen, we need to learn how to use our tools. Play on words with Craftsman tools is very good. Nice crisply pointed pencils there. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn

Thank you, Marilyn. My pencils are the handiest tools that I own.

I have a love of simple hand tools - somehow they feel more 'honest' when it is the user doing the thinking, and nothing is a better example that a sharpened pencil, ready for the action of revealing a drawing or special words of insight. The simplicity of your poem is perfect, so a virtual 6 from me.

Thank you so much for the virtual six, LisaMay. I worried that this one might be too simple. I'm so glad that you like it.

Simple is good - too many people pad out with fluff.

Debbie, I enjoyed reading this witty verse about cutting edge tools... although for insight... very good. A well written and witty poem.

This is such a great little short poem. It makes me totally nostalgic. Oh, how I wish those days would come back where we wrote with a pencil or pen. I would so gladly trade in my computer for a notepad or two.

Thank you for your review, Katherine. Crayons, notepads, and pencils are emblems of creativity to me. Something comes over me when I hold them.

In my youth (many long years ago) we started with pencils, then dipped a pen in ink, ballpoints came along and now who uses pens for writing letters? The computer has taken over. Being an artist, I use pencils for accuracy, pens for fine lines and paints to finish off. Thanks for sharing. K xx

Good to hear from you, Aussie. I'm into coloring books and crosswords, so pencils are my everyday tools. Useful little things, aren't they?
-
Yep, better than inkwells where I used to get my plaits dipped into by the boy who sat behind me!!

Sometimes with all the short posts that I write, I feel as though I am writing ads and inspirational posters. I guess I like doing it.
