This story is definitely for the pre-teen category. It sounds scientific to me which I think is what Harry Potter's books are. I will continue reading your story; Nicholas will keep his garden alive with those imps. They sound like a honey-covered sprite.

LOL -- honey-covered is exactly what they are when they get 'out of hand'... ;) :) Your comments have me grinning from ear to ear over here -- thank you! ;)

This is really quite a performance on the part of the imps. You have created some very unusual little creatures, and their behavior is the product of your wonderfully wild imagination!
So their was honey in that spray, which is why Constantine didn't want Archie to use it up... and these were very special berries -- "berries of power," covered by the imps, even though they were temporarily knocked out by the juice! What a story.

Ooooh, they LOOOVE their blueberries -- it's their special treat (wink, wink!)... ;) Those stars are so very wonderful, my lady -- thank you, THANK YOU for the bright spot in the weekend over here! ;) Yvette

You're very welcome, my friend. Very, very interesting, how the blueberries can be used to reward the imps, but also as a very powerful smackdown (to borrow a term from extreme wrestling -- no, I do NOT watch that, but my husband is a fan, lol).
I don't think I had any sixes when I began reviewing your chapters, but then when I got some, I chose one of my favorite chapters to give it to :-)
It's a good time for me to start reviewing another book, because two of the four I had been following, just concluded.

These 'drone like' pests are very amusing.

I will be interested in seeing why they are necessary in the garden. I was quite surprised at the teasing by eating the berries.

You have great characters in this garden.

Hi Yvette. Dramatic performance is right! Someone has a very vivid imagination but it makes for very entertaining reading. I didn't pick up any glitches.

Take care
Judy

I will have to go back and read from the beginning when I get time. The illustrations (if they are any) will be wonderful. I like the humor and I didn't get bored at all. Only one tiny (nit-picky) suggestion but not necessary to apply.

Shot dived on top of Jerry, and they really got after it. They became a big ball of dust and blinking lights and whines and tiny growls until...

I wonder if the "and they really got after it" kind of pulls one out of the scene.

... Shot dived on top of Jerry, the two of them becoming a big ball of dust... etc. (Or does "becoming" changing the tense?)

so.. Shot dived on to of Jerry and the two of them became ... ?

Hey Yvette.
A question popped into my mind right away as I begin reading: "How do you look contrite when you're covered with honey?"
On the other hand, it did occur to me that contrition is usually associated with being caught red-handed. most amps probably are not contrite when they get away with it.

There appears to be a lot of hysteria and overacting amongst the imps as they fall down and roll on the ground. Doing that on a dirt floor while being covered with honey is problematic.

And insightful look at the behavior of imps.

You should never, ever interrupt a dramatic performance... especially not one by an imp! LOL I'm so glad you're back to your books again! Personally, it's the part of your writing I like the best... I think it really shows your imagination! :)

Yep, I'm going on my "summer schedule" this week that includes little to no school prep (there's always some things hanging out there I gotta get done before July some time) and lots more writing and 'other' time - hooray!! :) ;)
Thanx, BLOTN, for keeping up with my nutty stories - you know it means a lot to me!! ;) :) And, hey, Archie's a good 'imp tamer', don't you think? ;) :) Hoping to get this wrapped up before summer's end... but we'll see what lies ahead!! ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

Haha, those imps really know how to 'play act.' I really like the two at the end saying 'now us, now us.' This chapter was fun to red, YM. It leaves me wondering what's next. Your words are descriptive and filled with great imagery. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

The new Groundskeeper, Nicholas, at fourteen years of age could only be amazed to find such fantasy like occurrences happening on the Estate that he has to oversee. So, can he believe his eyes when he runs into these characters? And, how does he aim to control such goings on?
Interesting dilemma.

This is utterly charming and filled with antics and funny dialogue. I could imagine my granddaughter having fun either reading or listening to this garden story.
