Very nicely written and presented, Jade. You managed a setting, a conflict and resolution in a lovely short poem, and that is very well done.
Just one small typo in the subtitle: Batter (Better) days are coming.

Your words reminded me of the Poltergeist movie when the family used the rope to pull the little girl out of the television, there was some faith involved there too. Good luck in the contest.

I can't explain how much this touches me. How much it would have affected me to read these in past years. It's easy to forget that faith will bring us into "brighter tomorrows" especially when you feel like your world is only darkness. I really liked this, and I think you have an excellent chance in the contest. :)

You have these classic juxtaposed images of light and darkness here, symbolizing hope and despair. Faith is the hope in being able to reach through the darkness to the light. I think you juggled it well in the tight space. estory
