Nine kittens! That will keep any mother busy, but I think it's pretty rare for any animal to have nine. This is a cute story. We had either two males or one female, and all were fixed, so we braver observed this scenario.

These cats cost over a $1000 each so my daughter who owns them didn't want them fixed. One of the nine was a runt and didn't make it. She has sold the rest. Thanks for the review and comments I guess Popa Cat will get his playmate back.

I wondered. My stepdaughter raised Persians for awhile. Still, nine seems to be a lot in one litter. Wishing her well.

It is rare. The litters the two adult cats came from where not large. One came from five and other litter was small as well.

Spoken like a true new dad with his nose cut off because Mommy needs to take care of the babies then is too tired by the end of the day. Yeh, he could help with the babies, but duh! that would be too easy,
God bless!

Kids will force you into many shapes that you never wanted to be. What a wonderfully written poem and the picture is telling.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

This is a fun and thoughtful poem, presented with a 10-8-10-8 meter in ABAB-rhymed quatrains, which uses the cats to remind all of us to keep the fires burning for each other. R

A very well-written poe about the new cat parents that find parenthood is more difficult than they have thought before they become parents of nine little kittens that become mom and dad.

This is a well written witty poem from the tomcat's side. It also is a metaphor for how some human husband's probably feel when a new baby arrives. Most do want to help but don't like the time taken away from them. The woman does have to do the feedings until they are not breast feeding anymore. Can one cat really have nine kittens at one time?
Congrats on being the recongnized writer

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I enjoyed reading your comments. Yes this cat actually had nine kittens. One of them was weak and died after three days. She only had eight places to nurse.

Don't mention it. Nine is way to many to have at once. I can understand why the cat was pushing the tom away.

a very funny and to the point
if one had not identified the characters as cats then it could be discussing the parents of young human babies
a fine poem

I enjoyed this funny poem! They must feel a little put out by the massive litter, especially the father, it seems. I'm sure he'll get his attention back in the future! Great work.
