Great work on this piece. You were able to bring me into this other time and place so completely that I felt I was living there. Good work with the dialogue, regional but not overdone. I like the shifts from scene to scene that keep the story flowing.
Nicely done,

Hey, guys,
Nice job on this chapter. I saw a few tiny nits here and there but I don't have any time to do edits. I'm sooo sorry. I did enjoy the read, though and can only imagine what moment like this must have been like in person for those folks who had to suffer through. Great job!

You clearly provide the reader with a history in this action-packed piece. It gives them a look at both sides of a war. The way it is for the soldier who is fighting and the loved one they have left behind.

This story is held me spell-bound. I could visualize the battle field and the horrors of death. I wish I can get hold of the book when it's out. The poem to Carty was equally interesting and captivating. Good work!

I enjoyed this tremendously. The scenes where there were Viet Cong invading were wonderful. This was ver realistic. I also liked the parts where Cathy is talking. The way you described her pregnancy was terrific. Great all the way around. -January L.

The chapter describes the impact of war on populations; whether you are the aggressor or victim. It exhibits the empathy of conducting war where children are utilized as weapons and the reluctance to impose the harmful effects of wartime on innocent children. The chapter also exudes the emotional strain of waiting for a modern warrior to live another day by family. It simplifies the consistent pattern of anxiety and anticipation of the pain in waiting for news about a loved one engaged in war

This is fabulous. Easy to get completely wrapped up in this story. Being biographical makes it even more amazing. Themes of hope and miracles during the emotions and physicality of war inspire gratitude in the readers.
Nothing to improve here.
Thank you so much for the pleasure of viewing you work.
Well done!

I hate war but it is a fact that people who had rather not fight have to go to war. This is well written chapter and I 'm glad so far every one is all right. The poem is nicely written. Congratulation on a win.

I like the way this chapter turned out. There is a lot going on in it. I am so glad that the kids on the battlefield were safe. You did a great job with the war scenes. I remember the poem that you included. It is a great
reminder of how soldiers thought of home and their loved ones, and whether they would see those again.

Bill and Cathy,
I was a 1972 high school graduate and remember
these time vividly. I knew 2 young men from our small
towns that lost their lives in Vietnam. I was instantly
attracted to your story. Thank you for writing it and
I support you both.
Fear, loneliness and anticipation are all well covered
in your story. Mixing in music and politics during those
times seasons your story.
Writing about war needs to tell the home front and
military sides. You are balancing this well.
I plan on reading your past chapters,
Many Blessings,
Richie b
