It is true that mothers keep families together and that her loss creates a hole in the heart. This is true of the loss of any parent. You use line breaks well to strengthen the emotion.
The end supplies hope and shows that the spirit of the person stays with us. Sorry for your loss.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

An epitaph couched in delightfully varied tones that somehow reflects your interests. The first two thirds are set out in modern American style, but the final five lines hark back to the language and culture of the native Americans in whose footsteps you, and your mom have trod.

I suppose we always grieve for those that have passed. Sorry about your mother. This was a nice way to commemorate her life and your love. Nice work. God bless you
Hope you having a nice Mother's Day Weekend otherwise :)

Thank you for sharing your tribute to your mother. I relished your "electrostatic"/"atom" analogy and your appeal to our senses. I hope you feel her closeness tomorrow. Best wishes in the Mother's Day Poetry Contest- Joan

Unfortunately, our mothers were cremated and their ashes scattered. Enjoy some moments of solitude at the gravesites on this special day. Warm regards- Joan

Yes, you can always think of something they said to you during you life. I like the words you have "you held us together," they surely do that in a nice gently way.
Good luck with your mother's day poem.

You had me at "electrostatic family now split like an atom" I know the loss of mother can change the dynamic of a family universe. That is certain. I also know my mother is always with me, especially her words. Thank you for baring your heart in this poem. It is lovely.

You put blACK instead of black, but other than that, this is a great poem with a lot of emotions and images that I really did like. Nice job with this one.

Beautifull written mother's poem. Very strong, loving voice. I seem to hear your words in my own mind, as I think of your mother's character. Sich a loving homage to her name. I celebrate your words.
