You build the tension well. Now if all international difference could be settled with such grace and ease, then maybe our mighty knights wouldn't be wasted.
You are an excellent storyteller.

Dear Dragon, you not only write a poem about it, but make us want to go out and by the game too!
If only all the territorial disputes on this planet could so easily be decided, half the lawyers would be unemployed.
Now that is a wonderful though for a poem, what do you think?

I absolutely loved this, but there was one line with an extra word. I would take 'is' out of 'Much thought's been is given to this choice.' It messes up the rhythm and doesn't belong grammatically.

Hi Ron! I love the creativity in this story you have written in your poem! I usually fall back on the real thing. At first, I thought you had gone for a scene from GOT or something like that... (I've never seen it)... then you pulled out the Sorry game... that was such fun! Great job, I wish I still had a 6! :)

Thank you for the fantastic review, Susan. I haven't watched it either but I'm taking GOT means Game of Thrones? Yes, that sort of the way I was headed with this but I just had to have them risk their kingdoms on something as ridiculous as a game of Sorry. Lol. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars and kind comments, Susan. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Have a wonderful day.

This is an excellent poem, telling of a battle of kings without loss of life, or limb, merely pride, position, and lands. It has always seemed to me from various descriptions that medieval rulers were not of the highest intellect. The choice of game described here would tend to support thisconclusion.

Lol. Yes, it would. Thank you for the great review and stars, Katherine. Yeah, I wanted them to be willing to risk their whole kingdoms over something ridiculous. So the Sorry game it was. Lol. Thank you again, K.

This post brought back soooo many memories for me. I remember playing Sorry! with my brother and sisters 50 years ago. I loved Dragonpoet's review when she talks about her 20+ year old kids playing this today. I have memories of my own kids playing this in their young adult years at family get-togethers. Cut throat Sorry! It got ugly. Lol

The fact that you used this game to have a kingdom forfeiture be the prize is just brilliant and hilarious. Who goes first? ...when he played scissors, I chose rock. Haha! This was so funny!

Technically your meter and rhymes are perfect. This story flows like butter with nothing forced. It's a COMPLETE story with a bonus ending. ...I give you all your Sorry King! Yep, here he is, your loser sovereign. HAHA!!

Your art is really cool and your author notes should be helpful for those unfortunate souls who have never heard of or played this addictive game.

A pure delight, Mr. Skulls. I loved this blast from the past. Well done. Lynda

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and giant sixer, Lynda. Out of all my reviews, you're the only one that mentioned the rock, paper, scissors. To me, that was one of the funnies aspects of it all. Yes, I loved playing this game as a kid. I'm surprised at how many people haven't even heard of the game. I dearly appreciate the gracious rating, Lynda. I'm glad you liked my silly story. Thank you again.

I think this is a noble way to end fighting. No need for people to die for a king's greed. Sorry is definitely a game of war the way my family plays it.
We still do even though my youngest is 22.
Nicely created picture.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan
