The story is a s simple as a kitty losing her MEOW and as profound as a person not standing up for him or herself with their own voice. Very cool.

This work definitely fits into the parable/fable category. I like how it could be used as symbolism for so many traumas that people, especially children, might experience, such as bullying or abuse. I really like this short story.

Cat fan: you write a funny story about the voice of the cat.
We do have lots to say to others. Great moral of the story.
I'm sure the children would love to hear your story and say
the sounds of the animals. Good winner for the challenge.

This fable surpasses fables some readers will be familiar with. First of all, you are using characters children are familiar with. She could also use their skills of predictability based on their life experience. However, most fables were not as empowering as this one. some readers may regret the fact that the fables which shaped them were not like this one. well thought out.

I was drawn in with your title as I am "cat lady," of sorts. I love a fable, and this one does not disappoint. What a great lesson we all need to embrace. Simple and effective storytelling.

Very true, and it is also a true modern fable. I can be interpreted in many ways but the main message I think is that don't trust anybody you don't really know and go with your instincts. Be strong. Good luck. All best. Ulla:)))

This is a very cute contest entry and I really enjoyed the moral. I think, as women, we often allow out meow to be taken away. I enjoyed reading this post and wish you the very best luck.

This is a cute entry for the Write A Modern Fable contest. Children need to learn not to be afraid to speak their piece but always speak with respect. Good luck in the contest.

Good one. This could be applied to so many situations. For example, an abusive husband and passive wife. An aggressive teacher and a shy student. The message is excellent.

This is just adorable. I love the kitty cat who looks like she has found her meow again.

This is a well written and most entertaining read and the moral of the story so true.

Best of luck to you in the voting booth with this gem. :)
