Our state has been low in fatalities but that could change in an instant. So glad that our county is low in numbers, too; the nursing homes are targets for this terrible disease. But they have not let visitors come so that has helped.

Hi Iza, yes, I do hope you do suffer from paranoia< LOL, I certainly hope you're wrong about the cause of the many deaths in care homes. But it is frightening reading and it makes you wonder what went wrong. Were the poor elderly just abandoned? One day, we will know the truth. Ulla:)))

I hope this theory is not true, but if is true this will be a black point in the story of humanity.

It was shocking how this virus attacks a specific age group. I was hoping my parents would get into a nursing home but now I'm glad they didn't! I used to think like you about flu vaccines but this year I will get one. Sometimes, it helps and some years it doesn't.
"you can't burry your dear ones," (bury)
" like life is falling between your fingers? " We normally say "slipping between" not "falling"
"I know I am paranoia," (paranoid)

Hi Helen and so sorry for my delay, I had a crazy week at work. Thank you so much for your wonderful review and the grammar corrections.

One important misspelled word: burry should be 'bury'. Sure, the virus does seem to pick on the old and infirm. But I'm all for it. What kind of life is left for the weak and the sickly? Why not do some good and leave earth while you still have money that the younger generation can use?
Just my opinion.

Well he don't get to play God and choose who lives and dies. I just lost my grand mother last week, she died of old age on her own terms and not defenseless because of a virus.

Not hiding down here, my lady... but this is another great addition to your series, although you do seem to have a bit of a different tone on this one: are you getting tired of being stuck inside up there? (wink, wink) LOL! LOL! Thanx so much for sharing, Iza! ;) Yvette

Hi Yvette yup I am tired of working from home, that is why I asked my Boss to let me go back to work from the office.

I think you wrote this just to relieve some tension and frustration. I hope you feel better! As for grammar and spelling errors, don't you have spell check on your computer? Many of those errors should have been corrected. I'm just here to enjoy your writing!

My oldest worked in a nursing home. Of the 4 deaths in our small city, they are all from that home. t There are over 3 dozen residents and staff there who have tested positive. All from that home. My daughter had to quit. she has asthma, my husband has had cancer and his immune system isn't great and her daughter is also immune compromised. But she worries and cries for her residents and misses those old folks terribly. She gets updates daily from the home, and is feeling so guilty for leaving, even though she didn't have a real choice.
Thank you for writing this and bringing those figures to my attention. I believe that God is in control, and htat He is not a vending machine. We cannot 'pray away' a virus if it's not His will to stop it, although I'm not sure why not...But I pray for individuals and that we, as a global community, will learn whatever it is He wants us to get so this can all end.
Blessings, health and peace,
Deb

Thank you, Deb, for the corrections and for the wonderful review. I know is hard on everybody and this virus didn't come out of thin air... somebody did something... and we are all suffering.

Hi, Iza,
I read through your coronella post, as you examine a few thoughts and questions.
I offer some corrections, fixing grammar. My suggestions... things in [brackets] are me suggesting you delete that word.
things in (parenthesis) are me suggesting you add or correct a word.
I never understood why Coronella chose (a)[like] terrain of destruction (like) the long term care homes or nursing homes.
(suggest moving like over)
What kind of sick joke is this? Did one of the bigwigs complain[ed] that [has](there's) no spot [where] to park his old and sick dad that will leave him a fortune?
I know that there was always a waiting list for this kind of "happy
(the tone is strong, clear that the sense of being able to discard the elderly is ... sigh... insanity of dehumanizing scale)
the world and also the houses that had an old parent [in the house](living there) like in Italy and Spain?
In Canada from the 1000 deaths, 743 are coming from these facilities, the long-term care ones[,](.) (C)coincidence, really?
The saddest part is that in some country(countries) the nursing homes had no nurse on duty, and they [were] never tested the residents until it
(suggesting little corrections to the grammer and flow... like making country plural and deleting the unneeded were)
Just imagine how low the moral(moral, or morale?) is there and how hard
can't burry(bury) your dear ones,
person: if you [did](got) your flu vaccine,

I really liked the seething emotions in the personality of your chapter. You really get that frustration with how the helpless old people in the nursing homes are dying in this epidemic. I thought those were the people all this social distancing were supposed to protect. The saddest thing is that you can't even visit them. They are completely cut off. You also make allusions to the higher callings and meanings of God. This is more important maybe than most people believe. How do we know what the future will bring? When my mother died five years ago, it was hard to take; but in retrospect, how would she have survived this? People without faith have a hard time understanding this. estory

Comment from Alison Ogilvie-Holme
Considering the fact that English is your (third?) language, I think that this is fairly well written. Wow! I would love to be multilingual! There are just a few spots where (understandably) a word is missing, making the sentence incomplete. I believe the tense changes in one or two spots as well.
On the plus side, your take on Covid-19 is very interesting. I know that I
certainly worry about my elderly parents contracting the virus! Good job!
