I enjoyed your poem of remembrance and seeing your family picture...especially your barefooted father which brought back a lot of memories of my own. I lived in Florida for a lot of my younger years and we could hardly wait until the cooler winter season was over so that we could go barefoot all the rest of the time. I couldn't even count all the sand-spurs we stepped on--although we tried to stay away from them, we weren't always successful. It never kept us from wanting to stay barefooted.

You are lucky to have such a picture and to be able to identify all the members of your family. It is not always so, for many others. I wonder what happens, to those pictures when they reach a point where no one knows any of the people in the photograph? But as long as you are alive and/or someone has an interest in genealogy, people still are alive in our hearts. Best wishes

I love looking at old photos because of my love of history. It's so weird to see your parents and older relatives as kids. Kind of hard to imagine them any other then the person you grew up knowing.
