Excellent write. I see nothing wrong and the story line is great. Telephone line to Heaven. Wow, this is a powerful line. Thanks for sharing and best to you in the contest.

Wow, Alison!! Thank you so much for this awesome review and those bright, shiny stars! :) You've certainly made the day kick off to a great start - here's wishing you a wonderful start to your week! Take care!

You are most welcome! It is such a standout story! Just a thought, have you ever entered any stories in the WOW! Women on Fiction quarterly contest? I?m certainly no expert, but this story seems very much in line with some of the past winners (in terms of the types of stories they prefer). Good luck!

Never even heard of it... I've almost given up on those competitions: I've spent pretty much all my savings and have never won anything. But thank you for the encouragement, it is good to hear. :)

One final thought and then I promise to leave you alone, Lol! The WOW - Women on Fiction flash fiction competition is online and it only costs $10.00 to enter. The contest accepts previously published stories and simultaneous contest entries, and they cap it off at 300 to allow for fair competition. Anyways, I think they would really like your story! Cheers!

Thank you. :) For that amount, I will look into it. :)

So glad you enjoyed this one, Diana! It was one of those that I just needed an 'escape' from working but once the idea started to take shape on the screen, I ended up with a 'teary typing' finish! Hello Kleenex! Thank you for your review!

It is beautifully done! xoxo

JEEZ>thanks for the beauty, but wow -- sad! I want to see what this one does in the booth! Wonderfully evocative writing -- I was able to envision it all, almost 'hear' his voice...

Yeah, it just kindof happened that way.... It was one of those that I just needed an 'escape' from working but once the idea started to take shape on the screen, I ended up with a 'teary typing' finish! Hello Kleenex! Thank you so much, Dawn, for your awesome review and those lovely stars! :) ;)

Profound emotion so effectively evoked here in this story of a love who has now passed away and is deeply mourned and missed - but redemption comes amidst the pain - well -delineated - not too heavy on the supernatural! which makes it just right !

Thank you for your review, Zanya - I tried to give the 'supernatural' a partnership to the human condition rather than something out to destroy it... :)

This is such a lovely piece of writing. At the end, my eyes filled with tears. Just the thought of such grief-stricken sorrow is so real it hurts. There comes a time when it must be let go.

This is soooo beautiful. I knew when the Conch shell appeared that Steven had brought it back. She hadn't let go of the past, and it was time. What a wonderful way to be told that. (Darn it, no sixes left!)

Oh, I'm so very glad you enjoyed this one -- your review is confirmation that my 'teary typing' was worth it (Kleenexes are a bit low now, though - lol!). Enjoy the weekend!

This is a beautiful piece. It contains sorrow, and grief, but also a message of hope. Set against the back drop of the sea the story tells of a young woman grieving at the loss of her beloved husband. She finds a lovely shell
but cannot see the message it contains for her.At last she listens to the shell to hear her husband's voice speaking to her, telling her to say "Goodbye ". When she does the grief she had held at bay engulfs her while the shell washes out to sea again. This is a well crafted story. Well told well done cheers Cass
