A "SALUTE," Co-Author/Contest Winner! A Six Star (plus) worthy penning. On the topic of writing, "YOU ARE THE BEST!" Of course, that's crystal clear by having 44 reviews and a 1st win on "Best-Selling Author." Do miracles still happen? You, betcha! And the proof is, "God sent you down to write with me--HELLO, ANGEL!" Extremely impressive AishVideo! God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration and Seven Tons of Love, Bill

A "SALUTE" back to you, Co-Author! I beg to differ--YOU are the BEST, and I am so thankful that I can write by your side. I am truly blessed. Thank you SO MUCH for the AWESOME six star rating and your very kind comments. Although I've published four books, I have not yet gotten to bestseller status. However, it's gonna happen with "Love Long Distance" for both of us and that's because of you! You are so talented! You also keep me writing when I try to procrastinate, too. I want to write with you forever...and even longer than that! Please, can I, huh? I hope you always say YES! God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration and Eleven Tons of Love, Cathy

We all need to believe in ourselves. If you think people will enjoy your book, then you should try publishing it yourself. Good luck with whatever
you decide to do.

Hi Barbara, Thank you so much for reading and reviewing this true story. I have written four books so far. My first two were with a small publisher, and then I went on to self-publish. The fifth book coming out in a few months is "Love Long Distance" co-authored with Bill Bishop (Commando). Although many have read my other books and enjoyed them, I believe this next one will be the bestseller! Bill is a fantastic writer! Thank you also for the good luck. Wishing you all the best. Keep believing and God Bless.
Respectfully,
Cathy

I just completed my first "full length" work of fiction. I hesitated to talk about it or even think that it would be anything but a personal project. Your lovely essay makes me think it may be time to al least consider the idea of sharing my desire for publication, "Some Day?" Thank you for sharing your writing.

Hi There! Congratulations on completing your manuscript! It is scary to share for the first time, but keep moving forward realizing there will be edits and some may not like it. Never give up! There's a lot to still do after writing a book, but it's all worth it! I have published four and the fifth, which is titled "Love Long Distance" and co-authored with Bill Bishop (Commando), will be published in just a few months. If you haven't read any of our book yet, we have 27 chapters posted on FanStory with Chapter 28 coming soon. Many members have helped us make it better with edit suggestions. We are here to help each other. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing this true story. Keep writing, take care, and have an awesome weekend.
Blessings,
Cathy

Hey Tootie,
Thanks for sharing this. You know I just rejoined this platform yesterday after a two year absence in hopes of developing a writing habit and growing my writing skills. I feel a bit more encouraged after reading this. I have a huge idea for a novel but can't seem to get the discipline and motivation necessary to see it through. Maybe things will be different this time around. But you're right. We can't give up. Hope maybe one day you make it to that Best seller list.

Hi bluedragon776, Welcome back to FanStory! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing my true story. Move forward with your novel idea and don't get overwhelmed. Break it down into chapters or even pages or paragraphs. It took me seven years to write my first novel and now I have a total of four published. The next book, "Love Long Distance" co-authored with Bill Bishop (Commando) will be finished and published within the next few months. HURRAH! I believe we'll make it to the bestseller list with that one! I have had many sales and readers with my other books. Lots to be thankful for. Please keep writing and don't give up. You can do it, too! Wishing you all the best. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Cathy

This is very inspirational. Do you know that JK Rowling went to publish her new book under a pseudonym and she went (just for fun) and proposed it to a literary agent under that name. They replied to her that she needed to "go back to writing school." Her book wasn't good enough. When it was released... it was a worldwide best seller. Don't pay attention to the rejections... if you fall down, get right back up. You can be a superstar! Well wishes to you. -January L.

What I love about this piece is the conversational tone of the writing! It feels like you're just sitting down to have a cozy chat with a girlfriend! The message, of course, is very hopeful and inspirational. We all deal with rejection and try to keep moving forward. Thanks for the good read!

-Congratulations on the win, Cathy.
-I like your topic and examples.
-You also tell the story with
a conversational tone.
-I like the opening, and how
you describe the chit-chat as
entertaining; it often is!
-I also like the paragraph about
rejection letters. John Grisham
was another one who had many,
and his first book was published after
others had been.
-A good conclusion, too!
-Well done.

Great little motivational essay that helps illustrate how writers and readers rub off on each other, and how nice that the rejection letters that piled up over the years don't keep you from continuing to write. Here's a great sentence: After all, I'm not the only one to have received mounds of rejections; just read Stephen King's story about his beginnings as a writer, or Ray Bradbury's, or Anne Lamott's, to name a few.
Thanks for posting!
