That is all well and good for the dancing flowers, but what can those resplendent rays do for the millions of shut-ins who have been told to avoid exposure to the outside world?

Yes, it must be very frustrating for them.

This is a lovely poem illustrated with a lovely picture. Golden rays and golden flowers--what a beautiful match in words ad thoughts. Good luck in the contest.

Lovely piece and a beautiful reminder to be grateful for the beauty that surrounds us. This poem is especially meaningful as we all hunker down in our individual spaces during the pandemic. The picture you chose is beautiful and your words are full of joy.

Flowers dancing in the sun is a beautiful image that intrigues me. In this time of darkness an turmoil to bask in sunshine seems dance worthy to me. Longer summer days are coming and I hope that we may all find the inspiration to dance like your flowers.

Resplendent rays
Hello, my friend,
A fine entry for the Write a Nature 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. The lines are connected grammatically and that is good, but there is no juxtaposition between the top two lines and the last line (satori). The essence of haiku is 'cutting' (KIRU) represented by the juxtaposition of two images or ideas separated by a (KIREJI) dash or ellipsis (~, ...)
our sun rose today
with resplendent golden rays ~
breezy flowers dance or sprightly flowers dance

Gypsy, thank you for this very valuable lesson. I admit I do not do haiku or senru very often simply not in my genre of style, but I do try and thus I get great lessons from someone, such as yourself, who has mastered this artful poetic style, thank you!

You're welcome 😊

A lovely happy haiku, even without the picture, I could imagine the scene, the 'dancing flowers'. 'Resplendent''s a good strong description. Well Done

This is a lovely entry for the 5-7-5 nature contest. I enjoyed the personification of the flowers dancing in the sunshine. Beautiful presentation, as well. Good luck in the contest.

Minglement, thank you, I realize while this one is not perfect ---the attempt was made in earnest.

Not to worry, it's doing well in the contest. We learn by doing. I enjoyed it. Take care :)

The poem is really beautiful and I love the photo that went along with it. I love the words you used to describe those rays. Great Job!

I suppose you'll be heading into your spring right now, into that great season of renewal, of wondrous blooms and brand new growth. A beautifully written entry in this 5/7/5 nature poetry contest, great entry, good luck, blessings Roy
