It is nice that your breakup and the new love in his life didn't leave you bitter. You both hurt each other, but you will hold onto your ability to love.

The passage of time can work wonders on acceptance, self forgiveness, and softening of past hurts, as evidenced in your poem. It sure shows how "open-hearted" the writer has become. Well done. Not always easy where love is concerned, even a past love.
