Thank you for sharing your memories of dolls in the duet of 5-7-5-7-7's. I lusted after a "walking doll" as a child, and my mother actually got me one, which you guided by the hand to make her stroll! Smiles- Joan

I enjoyed your review of Barbie dolls. Your words paint a great picture of her. Your lines flow smoothly with great details, too. The video was most interesting. Many girls had a Barbie. I know I learned to sew making my Barbie clothes from scraps from material used in making our school clothes. 'Thanks for the memories' as Bob Hope would say.

Respectfully, Jan

Hi Jan! My mother was a seamstress too. But she never made doll clothes. That's a nice idea and great diy. I actually wouldn't have thought of it. You're nice. Thank you. Hearts & hugs, Alicia (aka sunnilicious) :)

Both my girls owned barbie dolls, in fact they had a lot and played with them incessantly as little girls. They are playing with real life ones at this stage, beautifully written. That was a very strange about the Papin girls. Well done, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy! I'm glad you raised your daughters to marry GI Joes. I don't know about the Papin Girls. Barbie dolls always have something going for girls, teens and women. Nice role model doll. Thank you. Hearts & hugs, Alicia (aka sunnilicious) :)

It's funny what we remember from our childhood and how it shapes our view of the world, I remember James Bond in the sixties and how I wanted to be that girl in a sports car! Ha ha ha, this is a fun write Alicia, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I think we all went through a period of admiring Barbie. I think in made some girls think real women were supposed to look like that. They were before my time but I bought the for my kids. Nice poem. Well written. I enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable, Alicia. I liked your poem. Barbie is dazzling. She's held the spotlight for generations. "One memory at a time," is so true. I still have my old dollies. Marilyn

I like the picture you chose better than the Barbie doll. She looks more like a normal lady's figure. The Barbie dolls were too extreme top heavy and teeny waisted. We are better to appreciate our own individual beauty. Thanks for sharing the memories!

Hi Helen! I'm okay with the Barbie. I heard she was like the average size 8 or 36-26-36 is a standard tall or short, however, that looks different depending on the height. It's just because she's in a doll. Idk for sure. My thoughts... Pretty girls, pretty dolls. Stay beautiful. Thank you. Hearts & hugs, Alicia (aka Sunnilicious)
