I had my suspicions that Selene was there in spirit and not in corporal form, but to Gus she was a tangible as he needed, still keeping him company and helping him out.
This is a well told story of love in several forms.

Wow, W.J. -- those stars are beautiful!! ;) You know, this one I wrote late the night before the contest because I had been so busy with school coming to an end (FOUR days... count 'em down with me!!)... but I started writing and cried as I wrote -- can you believe it? But, seriously, I'm sure there were tears in there for other things (stress, for one - ugh!), but I was a mess when I finished! Soooo glad it was late or my boys would have been worried about me because 'Mom never cries'!! :) ;) Thanx again, my lady, and you take care out there! ;) Yvette

I'm thinking that Selene was a heavenly angel. You write such fascinating stories that it makes you think while you're reading, and then when you get done reading, you must go over it with a fine-tooth comb. A great family story and a visit by the angel, Selene. Or was Selene alive?

Very well written story. Conversations are natural, flow easily. This plays well in concealing Selene's identity. Their rapport is fluid and keeps the reader unsuspecting. When the time comes, the story loses no clarity, there is a small "aha" moment and all makes sense.
