Ciao Mystery poet.. as soon as I saw your eye catching artwork you had my interest .. and once I read your poem also my vote ..you have now 4 !
I just love blood oranges .. I spend quite a bit to have those blood oranges which come from our sunny Sicily down south.
I envy you ....you have them growing in your grandfather's orchard..
...here we start eating them in late December to end March /April ..
Just thinking of them makes my mouth water . ( biggrin)

Fantastic taletelling about the morning; Nature is well linked to human conditions, but I think, the third line does not have 'satori' or 'aha' effect; well said, well done.

Are blood oranges usually tart, or are they tart because the orchard has been around too long? I hope you still enjoy grandpa's oranges.
Excellent entry for the ode to autumn contest.
I liked your author notes. Good question. Why review it if you don't like haiku?

The ode evokes a beautiful image. I did not grow up near orange trees, but apple trees and this brings back that image for me. Our orchard was timeworn as well.

This poem is yummy. It made my mouth water and want a blood orange. You kept with the 575 format perfectly and the poem was not only tasty but visually pleasing too. Well done. Respectfully, -January L.

I am not a fan of Haiku poems so I may harshly judge them. Also, Oranges have traditionally been harvested in winter. Therefore I dont see the correlation between Autumn and the Orange.

If you are not a fan of haiku why did you review mine, just for the pleasure of putting it down with a three stars? That is going out of your way to hurt somebody.
Blood oranges bloom in March. These oranges have a distinctive, dark red interior with a flavor that has hints of raspberry combined with orange. Harvest for blood oranges runs from fall through the spring. source of info

I reviewed multiple poems and some were Haikus. It seems that I have offended you and that was not my intention. I apologize.
