Thank you for sharing this poem. It just enough gore with intensity and your hanging on waiting to see how it end and the ends got a little dark humor twist, I love it.

Oh my word! That was amazing.
I was laughing by the end of the second line.
I'm writing a children's zombie book right now and as I read, I had that in mind. It made it even more fun!
Congrats on the win. I think you nailed it.
Blessings and health to you and yours,
Deb

There's nothing subtle about the horror in this, it is very explicit, but well described. I like how the story unfolds, without telling the whole thing which is another trait of horror writing

Hello Bill Schott,
It's a MARVELOUS piece of poetry meeting the desired norms, having IMPRESSIVE phraseology, captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and TRANSPARENTLY depicting its theme.
The last line of the last Stanza is particularly noteworthy.
'There is no need of any star, for you are already a SUPER STAR':
CONTEST WINNER!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

First congrats for the first place, this was a very good entry. Your ending is hilarious.
Kicked the table with the phone;
it drops, I hear a dial tone;
then I hear my captor shout,
"There's no need to order out!"

Colorful poetic story. Really graphic details. It read like a movie scene and made me want to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre again. The ending was a complete suprise. Nice work.

Congratulations on bringing home the win!

Congratulations on your gory poem finishing first, Bill! I have a hunch it's not an entirely true story. (Just a gut feeling.)
Don't take unnecessary chances wherever you go, and keep safe!

Wow! You make Shel Silverstein look like an amateur with his "Someone Ate the Baby" and "I'm Being Eaten by a Boa Constrictor." Now you just have to set it to music and put it on YouTube!

Plenty of finger foods it seems. LoL. Nice flow and rhyme. Adding the humor made it more enjoyable. Good luck. No edits or adjustments necessary.
