That's a bit sad! It's almost like an elderly couple who've been married for years dying within a short time between each other. Poor Molly...what a fate she met! I wonder if Jim ever found gold?

This was an enjoyable poem to read, albeit sad, but it reflects real life I guess. Well done!

Ol Jim cannady and Molly were quite a pair. It's so sad ð??¢ poor Molly. Your poem is a great story. Good luck in the contest.

What a sad, sad, story in a poem you've written here Willie, so poignantly, yes some people tire of people's treachery and turn to undemanding kinship. Beautifully written my friend, what precious poem, in articulate rhyming couplets, well done, blessings, Roy

It ends up to be sad that they both die except if you are referring to them meeting in heaven. These Monorhyme's are well rhymed and have good rhythm. Nice work!

The author's words were sad, heartfelt, descriptive and creative. The
author's words were expressed well. They engaged the reader in
wanting to read more. The artwork is great and compliments this poem
well. Have a good week - be well and safe.....

Are, this is really good and sad all at the same time. I know that a special relationship is forged between man and animal. I believe that both relationships are special whether the animal be for work or for companionship. I like how you've presented this and brought it forth. Thanks for sharing this well written work. Well done!

This is really fun to read and well written. Love the theme and how you kept it a live through the language and writing. The rhyming is even done so well and smoothly. Poor Molly the Mule and I thought this was going to be about the beverage, not an actual mule until I saw the Photo. :)

I really like all of this poem except for the lack of rhyme in the last couplet. I would look at that again. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

How well you have portrayed the tragedy of attachment to an animal - more than just a trail companion to haul his pots and pans. I guess he died of loneliness and a broken heart. I like how you have captured the western feeling in your language and the harsh environment with death by mountain lion.
