This Triolet is a delightful response to the "Light and Sweet" romance poem challenge, as well as a timely expression of exactly the kind of gentleness needed to calm the tensions of recent events.

The Triolet's repeating lines enhance the emotional effect, just as repeated light thumb strokes on the cheek would.

Valerie Sjodin's 2012 painting is a perfect illustration for this poem.
