This is a well done heartfelt poem that does Cat Steven's proud.
I love the song Morning Has Broken. This virus has surely changed
our lives. I am enjoying a lot more walks. It is weird veering away from people that pass but I still wave and smile.
The one good thing about this new life is that there seems to be less violence because no one can congregate.

This is so true about less violence no peer pressure but what concerns me with this house arrest and social distancing is that it could lead to some becoming depressive and in extreme situations, suicidal

I know this might sound callous but maybe this is the moral correction the world had to have we have been going down the path of greed and war mongering for too long now.
I hope something good comes out of this in regards to attitudes people have to felow man as they say we are all in this together.

On another sad note I will be walking away from Fanstory indefinitely. I have various reasons both personal and general.

I want to pursue my passion the recite and perform my poetry more vigorously I love doing open mike poetry and after the buzz in doing my one man show last november I would love to perfect and do another , learning so much from the first and what irked me.

You know we are our harshest critic Joan I am heading toard 66 years old and I passion to surf only gets stronger now that i have been retired 5 years now after a forced redundancy due to my place of work completely changing its financial and forward strategy.

in general, of late there are a few incidences here especiallly on the forum that have indicated to me that 'foreigners' having opinions on this American site are not welcome and are seen as rude and opinionated and your poltics is none of my business.

I love to write in rhyming verse I have always worn my heart on my sleeve and do say what I think through my poems be them political, humourous, romantic or expressing my love of the ocean.

I am going to send you a link to a video of my show that a friend videod its only an abridged version because he ran out of battery filming it in high res. but you will get the gist of it.

Hi Sandy.
I am only saying this to those whom I haven't heard from for a while.
I hope you family are all safe and well at this terrible time the world is going through and in our lifetime, unprecedented.
i do wish everyone on here all the best as we go into this uncertain future.
I am leaving Fanstory indefinitely though i still have my membership til September this year.
I just haven't the time or the impetus to stay and I am not getting any younger to pursue my passions.
I have in the last year discovered open mike poetry where I get to recite my poems aloud I also, last november, did my own one man show which was a real buzz for me...just another thing I can tick off my bucket list.
There have been a few incidents and accusations of late on this wonderful site that frankly have been pretty ugly and unfair and it virtually has helped to make up my mind. Yes I have taken a month or two off once before and sadly to some that was a godsend.
I seem to be always apologizing of late for things I don't feel justified an apology.
The forum which I am guilty of visiting is getting rather toxic and personal of late and as much as I am guilty of sledging as good as I get I get the feeling on the whole I am not welcome on this American site being a foreigner in Oz
Dare i have an opinion of your politics and the man running your country. It seems that is exclusively for Americans only, to have any diverse viewpoint.
ALL this aside my lifespan on here at already been decided well before all this toxity that just put the icing on the cake so to speak.
I wish you well Sandy keep safe and strong and always be uninhibited in saying what you truly believe no matter how diverse your opinion.

Thanks for being a loyal follower and fan of my humble writes I hope some of my simple rhymes had heart a heart string or an emotion.

I'm personally enjoying the being shut in. It's feeding my introvertedness so much. I've been off of work for 6 weeks with my foot and have to go back to work this week. I won't lie, my foot is ready, but I don't think I am mentally ready. You did a great job with this, stay safe.

Hey, it was one of my favorite songs in my early teens. I don't know , but the earth seems quite happy with us humans locked away. Nature is cleaning up, animals are wandering around village greens, and mostly this planet doesn't need us.
So it's humans who are screwed at the moment...though like yourself the pain and suffering is hard to see and I hope when it is all over there is a new dawning.

Firstly,thank you for the insightful review. We certainly are going through interesting times in the world at the moment.
As I have said before, just maybe this is the moral correction the world needed to have.

Just on a personal note, I want to thank you for being so supportive of my humble poetry over the last seven years I have been a member of Fanstory.

I know I haven't been everyone's cup of tea over the years and I have definitely rubbed up a few members here the wrong way, wearing my heart on my sleeve and never held back what I think and feel.
What you see is what you got.
Some of my points of view and stances over current American politics have seen some here look at me with disdain.

Lately, I have just been miming my way along here as my heart has not been here of late and some comments from older members and their misconceptions and pre judging me have been playing on my mind.
After a while, shit sticks when thrown at you enough times.

I have met many wonderful fellow poets and wordsmiths in the last seven years of coming here.

It has only fuelled the fire and passion to write poetry be ever so simple in word and verse but always from the heart.

Surfing has always been my first passion and since involuntary retirement 5 years ago I have been able to concentrate on the passion as well as keeping an active part in now my adult family of three wonderful kids.

The love of rhyming verse is still strong and discovery open mike poetry in the last year and doing my own one man show reciting has only fuelled my enthusiasm of what I want to do in my life and that is entertain .

I have over 5000 poems now I put out a self published book back in Feb 2013 , three years after first discovering the passion to write after being invited to Facebook writing comments in rhyme which lead to ditties and then rhymes. to this present day.

To tell you the truth at 65 I have never felt fitter physically and mentally and realize I am chronologically not getting any younger lol.

A few incidents of late on this site put the writing on the wall and feel it was time to move on I will always stay a member I have been using this place as an archive slush bucket a place to store my poems.

I hardly promote and do not review for hours like I did in the early days.
I am going to have a break for who knows how long and pursue my passions.

I come and go on this site. The far right seems to get stronger and I am left of center.

I am going to send you a video of my one man show.
a friend videod it for me but unfortunately ran out of battery so a lot was missed.
all the same I am appreciative he videod what he got.
I only had a weeks notice to rehearse as the venue only became available at the last minute.
all a bit of fun.
the start of the show sees me actually sitting in the audience unbeknownst to everyone who walked in after i was seated.

I enjoyed reading that poem simply because it's straight facts it's personal it sucks it is changed and I think the world will forever be changed now because of this on a positive note there's less crime because of the quarantine but sadly the number of sick is keeping all time high it's pretty sad but keep your head up I like the poem keep writing good job
