I imagine this as speaking to G-d, questioning why leaders get away with so much. We learn our lessons as individuals but when leaders mess up it affects a whole nation. Thoughts to ponder. :) ~Yona

Your poem is a very emotional one and it does makes one wonder about our "leaders."

This is a little rough to translate at first. It makes you think about what it is you're trying to say. I think I understand what you're saying. Our nations leaders teach us very little. They care far more about themselves and how they look in the public eye. They'd rather give false information in an attempt to aid us. The truth is only good enough for their kind. We're the small people on a need to know basis, and they feel we never need to know. Kudos. ;)

Good example of the form. I'm not sure about your meaning in the first part, but I'm clear on the second and in total agreement. I'm sorry you are young and will have to spend your life in Nazi-style Socialism instead of liberty as I did. I'm very old and not well, which I consider a real advantage these days. Our only hope is from the Libertarians, but they have such a long way to go. Good luck to you and your generation.
By the way, my use of NAZI is accurate. It stands for Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or "National Socialist German Workers Party". Yes, Nazis were Socialists, and the govt had all the power. That's exactly what Obamanation is trying for. I think he'll succeed because people are easily swayed and the MSM is no longer a journalistic arm of society... it's an ongoing camapaign for Naziism.

I have been resisting all the fluff couched within the illustrious profundities, but how can you avoid a serial rape of the site based on dollars. Art should not be about money. I shuffle through the names of reviewers that review every one of these nonsensical posts(and without any response), and surprise, surprise, that's the current standard. Spare me the hypocrisy. So much work required to make any sense, but I confess to not being blessed with the genius insight to give this a five star rating..

Your tanka is correct in syllable count, and the poem is thought-provoking. The U.S. hasn't yielded to terrorists, but if our leaders ever do, we WILL lose all that you've mentioned here.
