This is a nice piece of writing about the subject matter of morals and morality. The language is accessible so it's mucxh better, though it still needs more refinement. well done

This one makes one think. Think about our leaders, about our parents and teachers. What morals and ethics did they teach us when we did something wrong? Your parents say not to hit a girl and your teacher says to listen to wise words, but what does our nations leaders teach us?

This is a very interesting poem. It raises a strong question. I love the theme, which is easy to understand. The word choice is strong.

Ah the anthem of the Tea Party! Put it to marching music and play it at Republican conventions. Sarcasm aside the message resonates especially in a day and age of unreason so to speak. America has lost the moral imperative and will pay dearly for it. As to leaders...look around..the horizon is as straight as a ruler with no 'ruler' in sight.
Well done, without the verbosity.

this si very well written, alcreator, you did an excellent job writing this tanka poem about the moral decay that is like handing over our country to the ones who want to destroy us.

Good Job. Your sentiments are widely accepted, but unfortunately, not very salable to those who need to accept them most. There's a lot of us out here. Wailing to our leaders to make changes might work if enough of us scream as loudly as we can.

I hear your outcry in this: why can't our leaders learn as the rest of us do?
"When I lose something, you teach me ethics, morals" - God's discipline has a way of reaching the everyday man or woman. But leaders often squander much:
"Lose our nation, race, country, yield to foreign terrorists!" - Oh, if they'd only learn as the rest of us must, right?
Thanks again for another meaningful poem.

I am not certain I understand this one. Lose something? You teach me ethics and morals? Lose what and how? A loss is a tragedy so if one is lucky to have proper guidance they would learn over a number of losses the lessons within. I'm not certain I would call that ethics. What happened to Wisdom?

So true. The rule of the day in business and government seems to be 'Mess up, Move up'. We make people who are called stupid and liars our leaders because they're used to the ridicule.

Very nicely worded. I've never done much with verse as you do, but I really like reading the verses of people who do know a lot about writing them.
At first I was confused about the message intended, but then I figured it out, or at least I think I did. It seems to me to have been a commentary on leaders who allow their country to lose face, to submit to terrorists, and to the foes. But, if one of the citizens of the country dare to say anything negative about the same leaders, he is told he is playing dirty and that his commentary is not fair. did I grasp it? Or am I totally off...could be I'm foisting my views off as yours, though I don't think so.
