Thank you for your review! :) My apologies for running so late, Miss Cookie -- this transition to online teaching is like triple the work and I'm just not finding any me time.... but the light is in sight (i.e., they've canceled final exams and I just have to get through the lessons through the end of the month and few days in May - ugh!)... ;) :)
You take care out there!! ;) Yvette

Did you see that? No! Dustin didn't see all the crazy things you saw, it was just in your head and all you needed was very simple *a restful sleep* #smiles.
Y.M. Roger, I love the starting point of your story and the ending, although i almost got lost in the middle..... The characters well displayed and I love that part the the lady was speaking with her shadow and sleeping off just to wake up with fresh ideas (the power of sleep). Good luck in the contest!

Thank you so much, Beautiful Eno -- and I am so sorry I'm so far behind! I apologize for this 'more cut/paste than personal response', but if I don't do something to try to get my 'head above water' I never will!! ;) :) This online education thing is going to make me crazy! :) But I've only got two more weeks worth of prep (I'm operating about 2 weeks ahead in my preps: YouTube, Assignments, Resources, Etc -- yes! I'm on YouTube! lol!) to be done for the school year and then I'll just have to keep up with their weekly submittals/grading/returning.... but UGH!! ;) Thanx for your patience while I 'get there' -- take care of you and COME ON MAY 10th!! :) ;) Yvette

A very well-written short fictional story about seeing things that only you can see us quite frustrating and we sometimes think we may be cast, until we get the proof that it is true what we experience.

My, my. I'm glad this wasn't a horror piece. It had me worried for a minute. Although sometimes when our Muse doesn't produce, it's truly a freaking horror scene. I enjoyed this and especially the sweet ending. Maybe that muse is more of a second person than we suppose. :) ;) Sending you and your muse my best, and for the contest,
Sal xoxo

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed this little fantasy read. Inspiration comes from wherever it comes from and muses - well who can fathom muses.? Great characters :) Good luck in the contest.

Hello Yvette. I thought it was a reflection she saw. However, reflections don't get to act independently so that takes care of that. I can freely admit I have no answer for the apparition. Odd happenings happening by the river.

You sound like the little engine that could. :))) It can sometimes be an endurance contest. No 100 yard dashes these days. Everything's a marathon. (*_*)

Great story! I love science fiction/ fantasy stories like this. There's no plausible explanation and there doesn't have to be, but it's just really fun to imagine something truly improbable and very far out in left field, yet which fits the character and her situation and makes a strange kind of sense in the character's own world. This is an excellent feat of imagination!
I also love your explanation of the story, "Sometimes ya just gotta work it out by yourself..."
Perfect!

You know me, Mary Kay -- always find time for some weird storyline, yeah? :) :) Thank you so much for such an awesome review and those wonderful stars, my lady - Your support is so very important to me!! And I am so sorry I'm so far behind!

Thank you Yvette, and I don't mind if you cut and paste, sometimes we have a lot of reviews and it takes time to answer them. You're a very sweet person.
Are you a teacher, a student or both? It sounds like you are a teacher. With the current crisis, you must be doing everything, or almost everything, online. Are you teaching college? Must be tons of work to do. May God be with you and give you strength, my friend, and especially keep you well. - Mary Kay xoxo

You really penned a story from that "Did you see that" prompt. I was convinced that she was seeing herself in reflection, from the mirror-like water in the creek, until the stone was thrown. So I am totally confused as to who that was. A mystery?

So nice to talk to your double and get advice from your old cute self and lay out the plan of your sequel. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.
