A very honest and modern take on the 'marriage' scene... although, I have to admit, you really through me for a loop there in the middle when you switched first-person 'perspectives' [Our three year anniversary...] and then again toward the end ["They were still in bed. They..."] with that sudden, without-warning switch to third person. The whole story is being told, explained, 'felt' through her viewpoint, then 'bam' it's him, and then 'bam' ominipotent POV... Perhaps a change of font or color or even an indicator of any kind as to the change....?? Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! :)

Sometimes we just need to take the leap. We got engaged 18 months after dating and married just shy of 5 years after dating. You can have a long engagement. We needed it to pay for the wedding so we could save. Really, it's not the paper saying you're married that makes a marriage work. It's the time you put into your relationship, it's the memories you make, it's the remembering to still date each other. Take each other out, buy each other little silly things. Bring home chocolate or flowers one night just because. Kiss each other, remind each other how special they are. It's not hard if you do the little things. And it can be the best thing you've ever done. I know, I'm married to my best friend.

I like how you show both sides of the situation and answer the same questions from each of their perspectives. You even include mothers with opposing points of view on the topic. Ultimately, the decision to marry is up the couple.
I like the romantic proposal.
You don't use the word wedding, but there is no question it is the main topic.

I like how the relationship is portray to went slowly but steadily. I think a slowly progress relationship is less likely to crash and burn. it is a pretty good story thanks for sharing.

Usually a love between a man and a woman develops over time, marriage is based on a covenant of promise, (if one cares to look at the vows) and the modern generation doesn't like promises. And the pairing of men and women has lost its meaning, "love" is not a word I would apply to it, that usually comes much later, while the earlier relationship is based on feelings or sensations, nobody looks at what faithfulness means, or commitment...like promise. My wife and I have been married for 43 years and together 50, not always easy, love is a decision or choice, it can be feelings, love is a verb not a noun. But thank you for your honesty, bless you, Roy

This is a story of fiction. I wanted to put across what I think this generation seems to feel about marriage. I am from the older generation. My husband and I were married almost 45 years. I believe that love is always in the development stage! Congratulations on your enduring marriage! Thank you for your review!

This is a heartwarming story about a relationship that worked out well. I don't know if it is based on reality, but if so, good luck in your marriage. I enjoyed reading this one.

Love this! This was written so beautifully I love how this story talks about different generations and how things use to be and how it also changed. I wish there was more of just a connection, and perhaps some more inner thoughts of what they loved about each other what they fell for when they finally did meet. I totally relate to the picture not doing him justice part, I feel like cameras rarely capture some ones full beauty. "Our generation has many more accepted freedoms than the generations before us had" I 100% agree, I am quite privileged to live in this new generation where the men and woman stereotype's are not as strong as they once where before.
