Again I say we all ought to get one SEVEN STAR review to give each month! Sometimes a "SIX" just doesn't capture the special nature of a piece! Your chapter 24 was especially poignant... Love the way you started with the down home humor of Grandpa and parlayed into the unexpected (but most anticipated!) engagement! (Okay, so I shed a tear or two!)---The thought of these two parting and the ominous knowledge of the challenges to come in part three have me on edge, to say the least! Just super writing from a super couple!--Bravo!--Karenina

A "DOUBLE-SALUTE," Co-Author! Best Chapter yet. Are you listening? "YOU ARE AWESOME!" Now, having swelled your head, let's write Chapter 25. Oh, my God! Will Bill get killed and leave Cathy alone? Will he as well, leave their baby without a father? Hmm! I hope not, 'cause I'm Bill--Ouch! Best wishes and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration and a 1,000 pounds of Love, Bill.

Hello, Co-Author! YOU ARE AWESOME, TOO! It's such a blessing to write with you. Thank you for giving us the six stars--HURRAH! Oh, I hope Bill makes it through, 'cause Cathy would be so sad and blue. There ain't no one who could take his place, and she can't live without him! Yes, we're already at work on Chapter 25, and it's gonna be a great one! Best wishes and God Bless. Meet you in the Meadow--bet ya can't catch me (unless I let you)! Respectfully with Admiration and 1000 tons of Love, Cathy

I always enjoy perusing these installments whenever I happen upon them. I love the playful banter between Bill and Cathy. You can definitely feel the love interwoven in the lines of your narrative. I'm still waiting for the movie. I'd prefer a mini-series. I believe all of America and the world will fall in love with Bill and Cathy! I guess I'm just an optimist at heart but I'm still holding on to hope for my own once in a lifetime love story. Kudos!

Hi Brenda, Awesome comments! So kind and sweet! Thanks so much for stopping by to read and review this chapter. Also, for your continued support. A movie or a mini-series sounds great! (Bill has a cousin who's in the movie business.) Stay optimistic and keep holding onto your hope of your own lifetime love story! Sometimes it takes a while to find the right one, but when you do...Kaboom, Kaboom! :) Chapter 25 is currently in the works and coming soon. Stay well, take care and God Bless.

OMG!!! I'm a Tennessean originally born in Southeast Virginia and I thought this story was a mirror of my life. Strange sometimes how others experience life the same. Can't wait for the next chapter. Well done and have a wonderful life.

Hi Kermit! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing Chapter 24 of Love Long Distance. We're so glad you enjoyed it! Also, that you'll be following along. HURRAH! You may want to check out our other books in process, too. We have 5+ in the works right now! Chapter 1 of Footprints of Yesterday is currently featured and on this profile page (Tootie's), and there are, as well, several chapters of three other books posted on Bill's (Commando's) profile page. We mention the titles in both of our profiles and they all take place in TN. So, you are a Tennessean, huh? Whereabouts? Inquiring minds (meaning ours) wanna know! :) Wish for you a wonderful life, also! As for Chapter 25, it's in the works and coming soon. Take care and stay well, our friend. God Bless.

I'm in Knoxville have been permanently since 1998. However new to this site and may have questions in the future regarding entering a book chapter for commentary. Still thinking about it right now.

Your chapter reads well. There's much action along with great personal
insight into each character. The last part as Bill heads to Vietnam was intense.
I'm a supporter of our military as is my extended family. Enjoyed the videos.

Hi to both of you. This is a great continuation to the book, But I'm sad to hear that the next chapter is the final one. Surely, there could be more to this story. Anyway, great writing. All best. Ulla:)))

I see. I misunderstood that.

You have a good way of revealing your characters. I felt that I could walk outside and stumble into them, and I'd recognize them. Well done. I especially like how you told the story of a soldier's life so concisely in the paragraph. All of the main points, no unnecessary gore or darkness. Well done.

Hmmm . . . you give us two "well dones" and say all these great things about the chapter with no suggestions for improvement; yet, only four stars? Maybe you should read the book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," by Dale Carnegie. Disappointed.
God Bless,

You sound a lot like me... I long for people to honestly pick my work apart so I can improve.
I apologize for offending you, but I did not want to come across as picking you apart. I have read several warnings online about being too critical of work on this site, and being new, I did not want to jeopardize my account, so I attempted to emphasize the positive.
So, here goes. :)
First, I thought the story was too succinct. It felt as if you were telling a summary as opposed to telling a story. Because of this, it felt rushed. I wanted to experience the story, but felt as if someone grabbed me by the arm and dragged me through the scenes. I could see but not touch, smell but never taste. I could almost hear the conversations, but never quite loudly enough to understand what was really being said.
I would have preferred a much slower build with more elaboration in settings and more dialogue.
That said, the paragraph about the soldier's life was perfect. I found it perfect because it was obvious that it was exact what it was supposed to be... a summary.
So, I hope this helps. I would love the opportunity to re-read future revisions, and to give my thoughts. Perhaps you could provide them through this messaging system so you do not have to pay for my review in the future?
As for the five star rating which I did not give your work. I seldom give more than four stars for anything. In fact, I have given something five stars less than 5 times in the last year.

Hey, guys!
A super duper chapter. So much here to think over and remember fondly. (Well, what I CAN remember... shhhhh...) PCB is where my gang of friends went every summer of High School. Oh, my. If those beaches could talk.
But then, no one would probably want to hear it all, I suppose. hahaha
This was very, very well written. Not one single nit and the characters stayed in their lanes and everyone did just right. Great job!

Hi Robyn! Really? Six stars and not one single nit? Plus, we behaved and stayed in our lanes? Wow! What a SUPER-DUPER review! A "SALUTE!" Thank you SO MUCH--we are honored! Now, if those beaches could talk, what a story THEY would tell, huh? hahaha We all have our fond memories and secrets! (Sometimes, there are some we'd rather forget, too!) Your continued support means a lot to us. Chapter 25 is right around the corner. Take care and be well. God Bless.

Hello Tootie. I am still laughing at Grandpa and I can identify with his comments. "I was born confused and will probably die that way."
Tours in VN were typically a year if the soldier was not medivacked.
(Just exploring possibilities)
Still reading.

;'"First stop is Snake-A-Torium!" he announced.
"You know I don't like snakes, Handsome! I have a strong case of ophidiophobia!" My body started to tremble and quake.
This part made me smile, I am not a fun of snakes either, poor Cathy . Thank you for sharing and hopefully Bill mades it back for the sake of the baby and the story.
