This 1-6-1 poem, D-Day, has the right number of words in it and may stand for the depression brought on by the denial of free movement. Rough times.

A poignant write as we all have to stay indoors to stay safe and we all need our prayers just now as we live in fear of the virus, I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Yes, sincere and heartfelt prayer will be answered. Once we have prayed, we can lie down and get a peaceful full night's sleep.

Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much Rebecca, the scariest it is the more I'm lost.

A clear, concise, poem with only 1-6-1 syllables to use for words. You did a lot with this one, it is simple and clear, and beautifully written. The image is very moving. Your title is perfect ; D-Day. Good luck in the contest.

Hello, my friend,

Nice entry for the 1/6/1 poem contest. Good syllable count. The presentation is effective. You have a small mistake in your author notes....

Not sure what you mean by stray here. What does it have to do with the rest? Cried and begged and pray are common expressions--try something fresher. Use your lines well. All the best. LIZ

Stray I meant like people who are on the street, that are scared.

My favorite part was, "I cried and begged today
Pray", because praying is always great in times of difficulty! To believe and receive The Grace of God to have the strength to carry out His Will!

The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,

Psalm 120:1 New International Version (NIV)

1 I call on the Lord in my distress,
and he answers me.

You've written an excellent poem for the 1-6-1 contest
with three very good rhymes.
I assume D-day refers to the invasion day in WWII,
a day when many prayed.
Excellent photograph to match.
Well done.
Best wishes to you
Robert

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, D-Day in this case is referring to COVID-19 which I think has the same impact economically and from the point of view of human life.

Interesting piece. I like the rhyme poetic device((I think you chose good words to rhyme in a story converted with only 8 syllables) I feel you could use more poetic devices to make this stand out though. I like the image you chose it fits well.
