I enjoyed reading your fun entry, YM. Great work with the prompt. The picture and your well-chosen words pair nicely. Thanks for sharing. I like the idea of a' tattoo' on the tree. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan
Best wishes in your online teaching.

Thanx so much for your review, Jan -- love imagining the two lives that made these when I run across them! ;) Yvette

Teenage love is more than hugging, rather mystic, personalized, remarkable, captivating and possessive, so they store even each alpha as token of love; well said, well done; thanks for sharing, wish this entry wins the contest; you may gift me any $ MD to help me make a Premier Shield member.

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables to celebrate an age-old method of memorializing young love. Tree trunks as venue for art.
Very appealing

That is such an interesting way of looking at it. This is beautifully written and I am sure that this would make many people emotional. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this.

I loved the last line. I don't know if anyone carves their initials on trees anymore. It would be super cool to find a tree with someones initials on it. Making sure memories live on.

There's a few in the small park downtown (course, that's 'downtown' of a small town in the South - lol!)... ;) Thank you for the review!! ;) Yvette

Hi there! This is so cute! I have to say, I did my own trunk tattoo when I was a kid... though I was younger than a teenager at the time. It was just barely though... I think I was about 12, maybe 11. I had a tremendous crush on Michael Frade... he's still cute, has all his hair... lol I remember carving our initials in the Elephant Tree. (that's what we called it because all of the branches were the size of elephant limbs.) Ahhhh... what I wouldn't do to have that kind of innocent love again! LOL

Didn't we all?? :) ;) Look! I'm up to just one day behind --- and it's almost noon!! Noon is the time I set my timer for to get back to work... :) :) SOOOOO tired of dealing with digital.... s'okay, at least my tutoring calendar has begun to fill up for next week - yeah, we're not confined to our homes here. :) :) Yvette
Michael Frade, huh? Mine was Michael Casey... :) :)

I like your picture and words. Trunk tattoo -- perfect description.
My husband has put our initials on trees since we met in 1977. So, I guess it isn't just for teens.

LOL Teenage trunk tattoo! I like that. Names with hearts found on trees everywhere in the park! I wonder how many of those names became spouses in the end; Maybe we could take a poll. Good luck with the contest!

A very well-written 5-7-5 tree hugger poem about the heart and initials carved into a tree trunk that often lasts longer than the relationship but when they ever come across that tree again the memories will be there too.

I loved your poem. There isn't anything more romantic and long-lasting than initials carved in a tree. I did not find any mistakes in your three lines. Good luck with the contest. Shirley
