First and foremost hello my fellow animal lover I have to say hi feel this home very deeply I've been in the same shoes with my pet doing the same thing with my pet loving my pet unconditionally they become human and you explained it to the t clear and detailed. Especially this line: "snuggled in bed falling asleep in ridiculous positions" insane positions and they won't move either so you end up sleeping with no room on the bed just to please your pet.. very well-written home another one of your lines I relate to cuz it's so true:
""I shared every emotion with your loving face staring back at me
You never passed judgement, just sat there and listened""

Congratulations on you win in the contest. I've been through the sadness of losing a pet a few times; the happy times, like you recount in your work, are always etched indelibly in my mind. A wonderful poem. Beautiful photos.

So true aoout the world being a better place because of our pets. They are with us during different stages of our lives, but in each stage they are a blessing. Currently my children named thier dog with the same name that i gave to my first dog. I thought this was intentional, but then found that they didn't know the name of my first dog! This dog too will be ablessing, I am sure. Wish you well with this entry.
