What a marvelous and beautiful poem -- you say so much with so few words, my friend. Is there acceptance when there is clamoring? I'm pretty sure there isn't, and acceptance is what everyone wants.
"Breathing Room" -- what an apt title.

Seeing this presentation brought to mind for me the Richard Bach quote: "If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were." Your simple words underline this truth, that we should never smother someone in the name of love.

Have ALWAYS loved that quote -- so much truth in there (at least from my perspective...). :) Thanx for the review and have a great week! ;) Yvette

True love does not suffocate the other person. It encourages and nurtures growth - enabling the person to be the best he can be. Great advice in a few short lines.

Thanx much for stopping in on this 'shortie', June -- always so good to get your perspective, my lady! ;)
** Please forgive my tardiness. I've been re-doing lesson plans and such and preparing to vid lectures/set up online discussion groups amid the weeks of school closing we are faced with. :) Thanx for understanding! ;)

What a true story you have told in very few words. I like the way you have made your writing stand out with the lines each being a different color and the picture. Great job. Shirley

That's a very lovely and very true statement, and an excellent use of the contest's 10 words. I love your use of graduating colors in the text, and how beautifully the background color you chose picks out the corresponding color in the selected image.

A very well-written ten word poem. True live allows the other person to grow and become the person they are meant to be without holding them back but be there when they need help.

I believe the words in your poem are all too true. We do not want to own or possess but just to cherish another. I believe the world has always been in flux as it is now, love is the one rare constant. Best wishes in a contest.

Hello, my name is not Doug, but I do appreciate your words and you are most welcome to mine .

Who is Doug? I'm not sure I understand why you speak of a 'Doug' in your response -- I addressed you as 'victor' (your callsign is victor 66, yes)... ??

Well then, I accept full responsibility for my mistake. Thank you for getting back to me.
-
No thanx/apologies/etc necessary - I was just a bit confused (you know, more than normal - lol!!)... take care!! :) :)
