I think that you are saying, children can take a parents words and turn away from them instead of coming to them with thanks. We are to be aware how words can hurt, even when unintended. This was a compact, well thought out bit of a riddle.
Well done, ALLCREATOR. :-)

As a mother, I truly could understand what this write was about. You are ever so correct in your authors instructions above and hit it on the nail about children. Great read! Snitz

Another well written and well expressed tanka. This is one I know every parent can relate to and will be able to appreciate. Great job on meter and flow. Nice work!

I enjoyed this poem. It took me a few takes to really get it, but it was especially clear and obvious what the message exactly was after reading you author's note.

Banter!;
A very natural poem!
In it I see; Birth, life and death through slander.
Very interesting!
Makes the reader think!

This Tanka has perfect syllable counting; this has truth how parents sacrifice for children's living and some day children disown parents and that becomes a cause of banter when it happens; truly truthful feeling; nicely covered in few words.

A gifted poet indeed. What a banter in ironic punch! This is perhaps the price to the parents by the misconception grown and fearful children's drastic action reward. Superb in Tanka. How clear and the flow is doubtlessly balanced. Kudos. No banter a poet genius could only make it! THIS MUST GO FOR ALL TIME BEST AT FS, I WISH.

Wow. What hurt we give our children unintentionally when we tease and go too far. Often they take things very literally and are hurt in the process, even when the "banter" is truly meant in fun. Thanks for this. Cyndee
