I love the concept expressed in these few words.
I have never had a family of my own, no romantic relationships hence no kids either...I read that when having a child priorities shift ...this fragile life needs to be loved, cared for and protected.
I know some people would laugh but that's how I felt for my pets.. they filled my life ....once my dog was attacked by another ..didn't think twice I jumped in between ..I'm very protective.
and if one was sick, I would stay close to them even at night ...
I guess you could say they were my family, my kids.

A baby does change your life just as much as marriage does. It is another chance at unconditioinal love. And also gives you a lot to do for the rest of your life and the baby's life.
