Hi Liz,
Wow! If you wrote obituaries, they'd be on the first page of the newspaper instead of hiding in between the local dispatches and the crossword puzzles. Now, the question is... do you know these people? or are they all fictionalized?
I know that you and I are above condemnation, but so many people are flawed today, aren't they??? Better to hide "the rest of the story"!
This is well-written, and much more enjoyable than the fabrication. It's like a horror movie; it's what the public wants. They want the truth! Or, at least, to be entertained.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Love it. WDD. Very clever and the alliteration is much appreciated by the AAA, Alliteration Addicts Anonymous, members here on FS. Great take on obituaries!

This is hilarious. Don't we just know how regularly the truth is cleaned up for publication. But for those who know and love the deceased, those edited versions only dishonor her. A great piece of writing.

Wow! I hope you don't write obituaries! Actually, it's sadly true that we tend to gloss over people's foibles once they've died and try to make it all "okay" for the survivors. It's too bad all those loving relatives don't see your revised version. Well done. It's good to see you back and to read your interesting, enlightening, entertaining and thought provoking posts. I hope your holidays are wonderous.

Holy Cats Liz,
I almost missed this one. That would have been a bummer. I was thinking about the similarities between the obituary and the perennial Christmas letters that come our way every year from distant family members. My friends would never send me such a thing. You have to wonder how deep the caca would be of writers of obituaries who send out those Christmas letters. Stay close to the toilet while you're reading I guess. Great job gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Hi, girlfriend. You hit upon a horrible truth here. Obituaries 'doctor' the truth. Note the adjectives: loving, peacefully, cherished, precious, etc. WDD--LOL

This sounds like it could be so true for a lot of ones that have died. People have no idea what the deceased has gone through in their life. I think you mailed it on the head. Hope you are doing good. Been a while since I have seen you on here! love and blessings, Teri

All the WDD disorders in the world have never been as fun and entertaining to read about until you took time to describe them. LOL. It's always a pleasure my dear! Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for missing this the first time around. I enjoyed reading it and it causes me to wonder what people would say at most funerals, if they could. My father-in-law's funeral was yesterday. My husband's oldest brother was to speak and struggled between what he wanted to say and what he actually said.

Thanks for my Liz fix this morning. I needed a good chuckle. Obit writers have to a fantacy fiction background. Truth writers they are not. I hope no one who knew the real Sandra is on this site. I wouldn't you humor mistaken for slander. While you tweaks might be closer to the truth, no one wants to hear when they family member dies.
