This is a horrible use of a ride from a pegasus. Maybe the boy will find his true destiny at the bottom of the other side of the mountain. Maybe the descent will give his time to think about his past and future.
If it could be done riding a winged horse or dragon would be on my
bucket list.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.

This is fun and clever. And has a surprise ending that is humorous. What's not to like? I like, also, your creative melding of several images into one, which tells us part of the story, yet doesn't give away the ending. I like the large print. It is easy on my eyes. This story, built the plot, and went through its changes, and then had the fun surprise twist, at the end. Well written and enjoyable to read.

This has all the classical hallmarks of short Flash Fiction, but placeed in a fairytale setting. This whimsical touch makes the ending more unexpected than usual. So then the reader feels it is more powerful than its peers - way to go!

Well, this is so creative and so "flash," that I had to give it a six. I love flash fiction, but have not been writing it lately, but you had the beginning, middle, and an amazing "PoP" ending, as the deadbeat son is gone. This should go a long way.
