I enjoyed reading your poem. Your choice of words makes this poem read well and is very descriptive. I can almost picture lavender or lilacs and smell their scent. Thank you for sharing.

Stephanie, thank you. And the very idea of haiku is exactly that: to give the reader an image, a smell, just with words.

You have followed the requirements for a haiku-type composition.
Your picture was well chosen for your 5-7-5.
Lavender is one of my favorite scents in the garden! It does bring on memories!!
Best of luck in the 5-7-5 writing prompt contest.

What a wonderful vision this would be to see...miles and miles of brillant purple flowers and the aroma rising up to greet us. Awesome descriptive words to match the painted picture. Well done

Begin Again, Very nice review. Thank you so much.

I think that you wrote a creative and wonderful haiku. I think the field represents memories of maybe what the main character experienced from his past. Maybe the main character grew up on a farm. Your haiku was amazing, and it really made me think.

Your 5-7-5 traditional haiku is a fine entry for the contest.
Purple haiku...is a beautiful poem about lavender fields. Good visual image but the picture is literally the poem so you miss the opportunity to visualize the haiku. I would change it to a single lavender flower. Good job.

A very busy haiku about the purple lavender fields that stretch as far as the eyes can see and I can only imagine the lovely lavender fragrance in the light breeze.

A beautiful haiku offering in the 5-7-5 offering... for those that do not read author notes or title tags, you might consider using the traditional titling of a haiku to make it clear the effect you were going for:
haiku (deep purple)
Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

You've written an excellent 5-7-5 haiku for the contest
with very good imagery and connection in the first two lines.
The third line satori offers a nice reflective thought.
The seasonal reference is very good.
Well done
Best wishes in the contest
Robert
