Very cute ode to spring. If the flowers could talk. . .I'm sure that's what they would be saying. And who knows? I do know when plants are responded to with human touch, they do respond favorably. These words could be truer than we could know.

    MoonGirl, another review from you!

Please say more about "when plants are responded to with human touch."

    Peace and joy,

Did you not ever do the experiment with two plants in two different rooms of your house? While one plant is left in a room with just watering and the plant that is given human interaction along with the watering (the second one grows more and even looks happier)). It is a good science project, especially with children. Have you not ever touched a Mimosa branch with leaves? They bend at you touch. It is pretty amazing.

Your picture matched your poem nicely.

You did a good job at avoiding the banished words.

I love awaiting the dogwood blooms as well. Good job!

Best of luck in the contest.

The daily observations in Spring are a ritual we are all performing so we know the excitement as the flower pushes through, then begins to open and then blossoms. Your poem is perfectly attuned to the Glory of Spring. Thanks for sharing.
The culmination of your poem, this...

"On Wednesday I'm distracted
And the red blood in my veins races wildly.
It knows. She has arrived!"

When what you have been waiting for, has arrived.

    Ciao Raffaelina,

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words.
It would be helpful for me as a writer to have you identify what phrase or line had the greatest impact on you. Why so?
Joy and peace in your writing,

There is much anticipation in these words as we wait for the earth to wake up to spring and encourage growth with warmer climes, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
