Excellent story about a concert and what happened after it. I too loved Stevie Ray Vaughan. I saw him once in concert and it was amazing. It's amazing how many musicians we have lost to plane or helicopter accidents. You wrote this very well, conveying strong emotion and informing people who may not have known how talented this man was, of his talent. The sky is crying. Thank you for this beautiful story.

I knew before reading who you dedicated this memory too. Then the initials on the guitar strap and the way your lines told of his amazing talent cut too short. Your notes were informative and poignant. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

This is a great tribute poem. Here is a great descriptive line: As his whiskey voice /brushed our hearts. I think this would be a fun topic for a contest, to write about a favorite musician. Thanks for sharing!

A great tribute to an incredible guitarist, and one of my favorites. I never got the pleasure to see Stevie Ray in concert but I can only imagine. All we have now are youtube vids which I check out often. I did have the pleasure of seeing another great blues guitarists, Gary Moore, before he passed away. Thank you for acknowledging one of the best!!

Lance, it was AWESOME!! You better at least sit back with the lights low and favorite beverage in hand and pull-up a youtube recording of 'Pride and Joy'..... :) :) :) If you enjoy the blues, sir, you will certainly enjoy this one. :) :)
And thank you for such a wonderful review and those bright shiny stars - we've had an insane amount of rain around here so ANY kind of 'stareshine' is appreciated - lol!! ;) You take care out there and drop by again some time! Here's wishing you a spectacular weekend of sunshine wherever you are!! ;) Yvette

I've heard it's great to go to live concerts - and you had such a great time. The only time I've gone to a rock concert, I was there to photograph the band for a magazine. Oh my - loud - but that's just me.
A good poem of your joy at being there.

Wow, the descriptions are so vivid, simply marvelous. Even I, who have never had that feeling, can imagine it clearly. Those sure sound like some wonderful memories, I really enjoyed reading about them.

Great poem! "As his whiskey voice brushed our hearts..." You have done a nice job of depicting Stevie Ray in concert. I too remember the day he died and exactly where I was when I heard the news. Such a terrible loss.

A very well-written poem about your pleasant memories of a memorable concert you attended with the star Stevie Ray Vaughan that you enjoyed and will never forget about, unfortunately he died in a helicopter crash and cannot be heard anymore.
