I can't remember this artist but by the way your writing about him he must have been great.
You captured my attention when I saw the photo boy, he's a looker and the way he 's hold that guitar, I know everyone was having a great time listening to him.
Thank you for sharing.

A great picture to match your poem.

The blues is a special music of all its own.

Hearing the blues 'live' that night had to be a pleasure for a lifetime!

Best of luck in the contest.

I must confess I've never heard of this particular talent I'm afraid. But I do appreciate what you wrote about him and his fabulous band. I love blues guitar, I play guitar myself, and have been part of bands in the past. Beautifully written my friend, an articulate free verse, well done, blessings, Roy

If you are a blues guitar fan, Roy, you should find his performance on YouTube of Pride and Joy and sit back and enjoy, my friend! Thank you for the review!!

I think this is a good entry for the Memories writing prompt.
This well written verse tells us of a Stevie Ray Vaughan concert.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

What a lovely tribute to a great musician. His music is fabulous to hear on recordings, but to see him in person - my, that must have been outstanding! Thanks for sharing your memory and bringing Stevie Ray back to life for a few more minutes... ...ec

love this! love, love, love Stevie Ray Vaughn's music. My favorite being his version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wings". You did an awesome job on this poem as a memory of your concert! So Lucky!!!! xoxo

I enjoyed reading your poem. I can easily visualize the River Boat rocking to Stevie Ray Vaughn. My father had told me about the fatal accident. Heartbreaking. Your rhyming is not forced. The poem flowed well. Thank you for sharing.

A really well written poem that enhances the very common idea that artists, musicians and singers all transcend even death! They live in the hearts of those who have seen them perform as they have left behind an everlasting impression because of their extraordinary talents! Best wishes for the contest! :-)

Wow, I loved this entry for the Memories Writing prompt contest. Instantly I was captured by the rythm and rhyme, and how smoothly and lyrically it flowed. I think it's a winner. Good luck in the contest.

So glad I could provide a bit of rhythm, Marcia, but nobody could 'rhythm' like Stevie Ray! ;) I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, my lady, and I do so appreciate your awesome comments and the those bright shiny stars - we've had an insane amount of rain around here so ANY kind of 'stareshine' is appreciated - lol!! ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

A Concert to Remember is a beautiful poem about
Stevie Ray Vaughan. I knew he died and heard his music in the 80s. I would have liked to see his concert. Good job.
