Thank you for sharing the photograph of yourself with your cousin and the memories that accompany it. I enjoyed your rhymed couplets in quatrains and capturing a simpler age. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Excellent it has good rhyme and carries the narrative well with a pleasing outcome of its delivery and a fine idea which conjures yesteryear better longings and charms.

I love the photo you choose to go with your poem. Is that you in it who ever it is both of those darlings are cutie.
Yes those was the days I called milk and honey the times are so different from now. I don't think it will ever return well not while I'm a live.
Thank you for sharing

I think this is a good entry for the Memories writing prompt.
This well written and well rhymed verse tells of childhood in a simpler time.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

I enjoyed reading your poem. Although I was born in 1980, some of your verses ring true to me. We would play with friends until our moms called us in. It was carefree. It has changed so much now as a parent. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. Your rhymes are good, there's good flow, the story reads well, and the picture is a perfect accompaniment. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan
I would not capitalize Ice cream--->ice cream.

Just perfect! Exactly as I remember childhood...such a crime that our children and grand children will never truly know the simple life...instead technology has changed all of us...some for the good and some for the bad. Loved your poem! Smiles and hugs!
