I think this is a good entry for the Rhyming Poetry contest.
This well rhymed verse tells of rainy weather and waiting for the heat of summer.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

When at a loss for a contest poem topic, go to the most apparent, or WET, as the case may be - LOL!! ;) Weather is as weather does... I just wish it would 'do' a bit more sun... Thanx so much for your review, Beth -- always appreciated! Yvette

I love the picture.... wanting shelter from the rain, yet wanting to experience the rain too.
I, too, am not a rain person. I have tried to explain to God that the best times for rain are once we are n bed, but then He reminds me of the pleasures of the rainbows.
Spring rains are the must- not the dreary foggy ones!
Well done!

LOL -- I'm sure He simply smiled and nodded and patted you on the head... :) :) :) And, yes, rainbows are beautiful, no question... my favorite are the doubles! ;) Weather is as weather does... I just wish it would 'do' a bit more sun... Thanx so much for your review, R -- always appreciated! Yvette

You must be from Washington State of Oregon.
Here in Arizona, we relish the rain, when it rains, if it rains.
I loved your poem. It was full of rhythm and rhymes.
I like your illustration also.
Thanks for sharing.

LOL! Alabama - and we're having one of the wettest winters in a lo-o-o-ong time!! ;) Thanx for your wonderful comments, sir -- you've put a smile on my face, sir, even amidst the incessant rain - lol!! :) :) But, when at a loss for a contest poem topic, go to the most apparent, or WET, as the case may be - LOL!! ;) Take care out there and have a great weekend! You're welcome. :)

This poem, Winter and Spring in the South, definitely has an anti-precipitation feel to it. One might think that being hot and dry is desirable. Maybe a glass of water will do.

Nooooo!!! I'm out of 6's!!! I love this My Lovely Lady Of The South Who Can't Seem To Get Out Of The Rain... (I was going to write MLLOTSWCSTGOOTR... but I didn't think you'd get it. lol) I have but one poem suggestion... in your line about hats covering frizzy hair, I'd lose the word, "they"... I think it just flows better. This is such a fun poem. I really hope it dries out soon, but the way you describe the weather it sounds like you ought to put up a cistern on your property so you can have water during the dry season to water your lawn. :)

LOL! You are too funny, BLOTN -- you so know how to make me smile... even on a Friday! ;) :) And weather? Well, there was a bit of 'wintry mix' this morning... who thought that was an attractive term, I do not know! Seriously, jazz mix, eighties mix, etc. those are enjoyable mixes.... wintry mix? Not so much! But now it's overcast, 46 with a slight breeze.... ugh! Perhaps sun tomorrow!! ;) :) Take care and YOU stay warm up there! :) Yvette

I love it, your frustration with the weather come through in your well-written poem. The flow and rhyme are perfect. I am trying to feel sorry for you but we have 20 centimeters of snow today. I bought myself a hyacinth flower from the grocery store. At the end of May, we get spring flowers here. I hope you are home and warm and dry. Laura xo

LOL!! Love that you TRIED to feel sorry .... you made me really chuckle (okay, so it was more of a laugh such that the cats looked at me like I was crazy!) with that one, my lady! ;) Is your hyacinth gonna be your 'Spring Detector' or is it your 'Color til Spring Arrives' - lol?! ;) :) Thanx so much for your wonderful review and the shining stars - Fridays I don't have to go out and in the cold I DON'T unless I have to (wink, wink)!! I like this Y.M. You seem to have the routine down to a science. We're crying for the weather to change but when we get there, we won't be satisfied. I love your very descriptive word choices and the excellent rhyme and flow of this. Thanks for sharing this humorous and well written work. Well done!

Science, yes, but I shall never be happy with the record-breaking wet routine... lol! :) But, so far as topic choice goes: when at a loss for a contest poem topic, go to the most apparent, or WET, as the case may be - LOL!! ;) Thanx so much for your review, Jeffrey, and for that smile, sir -- always good to hear from you over here! We can always write or talk about the weather. I wonder how many perfect days a year we really have? This is a delightful rant about too much rain. You are right though. It won't be long the weatherman will be telling us we are in a drought, no doubt. LOL Nancy:)

I'm guessing that answer would complete depend on the 'answerer'... lol! ;) :) Honestly? Weather is as weather does... it's all part of winter in the South (but we're over the top this year!!)... I just wish it would 'do' a bit more sun... Thanx so much for your review, Nancy -- always appreciated! Yvette

Excellent it deliberates the question of seasonal disparagement with a touch of dismal and depressing outcome however its voice is true and in its accustomed reconciliation it truly rallies the call to hope and delivers the eternal salvation that is the spring it has a charm and grace with a well educated and well thought through delivery and construction showing a worthy intellect of one who has had enough and yet strives to master the unconquerable with such ease and such brave endearment the piece is overall a good little number and has a sense of humour akin to its master.

Do I have a sense of humor...? wink, wink! ;) :) So glad you enjoyed this one, George - typical blonde here: when at a loss for a contest poem topic, go to the most apparent, or WET, as the case may be - LOL!! ;) Weather is as weather does... I just wish it would 'do' a bit more sun... Thanx so much for your review -- take care! Yvette
