I always knew that meanie Lucy would get hers.
What a wonderfully creative take on this contest prompt and I see you have the ribbon to show for it. Congratulations!!
It's been sometime since I have seen a Peanuts comic strip. I used to read them with my grandmother on Sundays. Something I miss about not getting the newspaper. I can still get the news, be it real or fake, but can't get the real Sunday funnies.
Congrats again,

Yeah, I miss the Sunday funnies too. Now I go on Ebay and buy books. Lol. Thank you for the fantastic review, Beth. I really appreciate the generous stars and congrats. Charlie Brown was the first Charlie that came to mind when I saw the contest so I just went with it. Lol. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Thank you again, Beth. Have a great night.

An interesting story has the reader guessing?...Did Lucy have to do with his accident that he forgave her? A shocking ending though considering the description of Lucy's character one might go so far as to say she deserved it. A lesson here maybe not to allow someone to mistreat you to the extent you become so angry you do them harm and you go to prison.A tragedy cleverly portrayed in not many words.

Thank you for the great review, gingermo. There wasn't actually any lessen I was trying to get across. Just writing a silly story for the contest. Yes, Lucy had to something to do with the accident. She was the reason. He shattered vertebra because she yanked the ball away and he missed it again. Lol. Thank you for the stars, G. Have a great day.

This is so very American. I hate it, but I love it. Getting revenge by shooting someone is the ultimate American response, it seems. I always thought that Lucy was such a bitch to keep pulling the ball away on poor Charlie Brown. She sure deserved some sort of punishment. This is wonderful storytelling.

This is great! I had really no idea where you were going with this until I read, "Lucy pulled the football...". This is very well written and held my attention from the get-go. An excellent entry into this contest! Sooooo cute and funny. Well done. Lynda
PS. Your GIF of Charlie Brown and Lucy appears quite a bit lower than the text. I almost missed it.

Ahh. . . You've taken poor Charlie and made a criminal out of him. After all those years we he and Lucy were playmates. What a sad end to Lucy. Schultz would be so upset knowing his character came to such a sad end.
Seriously this was very creative. We all like a surprise ending.

What a creative take on the contest prompt. It was worth reading a a second time to see how well you set up the storyline. Great job.
Best of luck in the contest.
It's been awhile since I've seen a Peanuts comic strip. I guess that is the thing I miss most about not getting the newspaper. I did like the comics.
