What a wonderful journey you took us on, clever and gripping, I was really invested in the character himself and willing him to make it. I had an inkling you were not writing about people and I felt very smart when I got to the end although I didn't know they were butterflies, I don't pretend to be that clever. Thank you.

You have shown wonderful storytelling in these chapters - turning a natural event in the insect world to a thriller of a science fiction narrative. My heart was in my mouth at all the deadly misadventures.

I'm sorry I have no six for this, mystery poet. I caught it this morning in the voting booth. Superb offering which captivated me to the end. I'm a rare pink butterfly myself.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the contest,
Sally :) ;)

Thanks for your encouraging review!!

You have penned an epic tale of survival here, including just about every misadventure that can befall a poor butterfly. It makes our lives seem easy in comparison. Well written. It reads like science fiction rather than science fact!

It's tough to be a butterfly, too. I was thinking it was a bug for sure, but I didn't think it was a butterfly. I like the thought that you were writing about the milkweed butterfly! Thank you.

Please re-read the last line of the story... it reveals about whom the story is written. Thank you so very much for your review!!

This is very creative and unique from my perspective. It is almost a horror story. I've always considered the life the butterfly a happy one as we see them flitting about so gracefully. Such beautiful creatures but being so low on the food chain they really do have a horrible lot in life. Nature seems cruel as they strive for the survival of the species.

I wish I still had a six. No, I wish we were allowed to give sevens. While I was aware of the life cycle of monarchs and saw the IMAX movie about them and read children's books and scientific books about them and am on the board of our local pollinator habitat, I never heard or saw their story presented in this way. I would love to do a reading of this at a butterfly event at our habitat. I would give you all due credit, course. Is that ok with you? Do you plan to publish this Anywhere?

I would be honored, Lady Susan.
I am working on an anthology, but do not have the time until summer...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such high praise... Do have a wonderful evening!

FYI, I published my book, A Word?s Worth, a collection of my columns with lulu.com, a print on demand publisher. Costs absolutely nothing! My mentor published seven books with them. Just letting you know. Our habitat is a monarch way station. For the life of me I can?t remember the number. Doing well some days to remember my name.LOL

Hello Friend,
Nice piece of General Fiction having impressive phraseology, smooth and captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end.
Three things are particularly noteworthy:
1, Laudable Wording.
2, "..life is certainly not without continued danger."
3, "Our mission was a success."
All's well that ends well. Best of Luck!

It's amazing what a Monarch butterfly has to go through to survive. The action of the story kept me in suspense the whole time. It feels like a science fiction/fantasy story until the ending. I liked how you told the story from the butterfly's
point of view. Good work and best of luck in the contest.
