Yes, I agree. Time goes way too fast. Better go to games and pay attention cause in no time at all, it's over. But if you're like me, then it's the grands. I have nine and it is crazy busy with hockey and some basketball just starting for them. Thanks for sharing this. It was so well done.

Oh, That is life changing. EMPTY NEST IS A CRITICAL STEP TO GET THROUGH WHEN YOU ENJOY YOUR CHILDREN. Jim and I separated and almost divorced when our last one left home and we realized we didn't have much to talk about. We survived. You will too. Hugs, Nancy:)

My husband and I are getting reacquainted with each other. Lol. Kids all came home with this covid quarantine. None sick, just jobless for a while. Thanks for the review. Gretchen

Hello GwHargis, a terrific Tuesday to you. I hope this finds you well, in good health and spirit. Thank you for sharing your story, I liked your story, it was an enjoyable read. I'm a single father of a 15 year old girl, the time flies and they grow up fast. I don't know how I will cope with being an empty nester. I both fear and look forward to it. Have a great day!

GW,

OH! My friend. I GET IT. Only for us, it was girls' softball. *smile* Both my daughters played, and my youngest daughter was really, really good.

Her teams with city league (varied) won three state championships and her high school team won one. For YEARS my husband and I spent every night at the fields.

After she graduated, we would pass by the fields and just sigh.

I mean, it's also nice to have your nights back, but still. Now, four years passed, we have grandgirls, and one of them will be four in May and can you guess what we're already thinking...????

hahaha Thanks for the smiles!

I love that you made a commitment to be supportive of your kids and attend their games and cheer for them. Some of us were not fortunate enough to experience that. Thanks for passing this on in a creative way, and I know you'll make the transition. Keep on writing! Bill

Thank you so much and I'm sorry if you didnt get the support from the stands. I'll never understand how parents dont want to share in that. Thanks, again. Gretchen

Such a true story you've penned here. As you say, kids grow up so quickly and all too soon, they move on with their lives.

Just one glitch:
Basketball rules my life for years. - I think this should be past tense - 'Basketball ruled my life..'

And I might have rearranged the following:
I would park myself up in the seats and watch kids play and practice for 8 hours every day for that one special week. - to read 'For that one special week, I would park myself up in the seats and watch kids play and practice for 8 hours every day.'

This was easy to read. You write very well.

Cheers
Judy
