A good poem about forgiveness. I did not understand quite well the connection between the poem and the song though.
Where the poem speaks of the great value in our lives of giving forgiveness, as a provider of a joyful heart, free of bitterness (Oh, how I agree!), but the song only uses the word forgive, without this extra meaning.
One more, personal remark: You put forgiving oneself as an afterthought, at the end of your poem. I think it should come first of all. (Just me).

I guess the song simply states that the person forgives someone and that doing so helps for her to move on. I do agree though about one should forgive themselves first so that forgiving others is from a humbled heart. I might revamp after contest! Appreciate your feedback and shiny stars! xoxo
