Are you lying about the fact that you state you suppress the truth and live under a new rule ALD? I think that's where you're hiding, in the lie that you suppress the truth and escape, void and love self-pride. I don't believe you're all that different to everyone else and yes it is only God who knows the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Intriguing write, stay well, Garth

When you tell the truth, you don't have to remember all the lies you told. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read.

Great poem about lying. Interesting idea. It surprises me how quickly children learn to lie. We all have done it, but I find that the more you pledge to tell the truth, the easier that is too. And, it really is the best policy, or at least I think so. Thanks for making us think about it. Well done.

For many people, telling a lie comes far to easy. Easier the facing or telling the truth. They hide behind there lies, unfulfilled in life and joys.
Finally, I think I got the jist of one of your poems...

You are so right and I'd quit it myself if it wasn't so necessary. Remember, Abraham lied to the tribal king about his wife and was sanctioned thus by God to spare and enrich them both, man and wife. kenny

This is a very thought provoking piece of writing. Accepting the real truth, at times, is hard. Telling lies for some comes easier than telling the truth. Once the deception begins, we become prisoners within ourselves and never escape. So, we hide the truth in order to maintain self-pride. Well written. Bill

THere's light that lies in a woman's eyes;and it lies, and it lies; and it lies.: so that might be a woman's prerogative. What excuse have men got to lie. Always be wary of someone who says,"Now that's a fact!" he is generally lying or at best confusing interpretation for fact. Even the great Nietzsche said; "There is no such thing as truth, only provisional truths. In any circumstance, if a lie words it might be labeled a truth but remember that like life everything changes and is transformed so what is true today evaporates tomorrow into a lie. The truth that exists is in the present reality and that is a fact._Ekim777 - I don't understand where love and self-pride come into the equation.

The art word is very telling. Many children grow up being children of parents who fight and disagree with one another.
The impact on a child's life when this happens, can be suppressed in a lot of situations.
They can feel frightened as their parents punish them for talking and telling what happens at home.

A well written poem about truth. "To thine own self be true" prevents having to lie I've found. Your poem intimates that there are many truths also which I agree with also. 'one thousand men, one thousand opinions!'

Once again I have enjoyed another of your poems. The structure of the poem is what intrigues me and makes me enjoy it even more. takes a real word genius
