You were Fingal's best friend. I could see him playing that game with the rubber band. He was so proud to retrieve it and present it to you--his guardian angel. Thank you for giving him the best home possible and with other critters. He had a great life until that incident with the bait. Are you familiar with the Rainbow Bridge? Google it--you will like it. Respectfully, Jan

Dear Jan, thank you for your review and the five stars. He was a dear little cat, so gentle and unselfish. When he died the Vet was very kind to us (my son Heath and me) and allowed us to go out the back door instead of the usual door at the front. Yes, I do know of the Rainbow Bridge. It is absolutely beautiful and I have inscribed several of my earlier cat's names on the roll. Fingal was one of them. There was also Felix, Nicky and Possom . and Tiki the first cat we ever had. Thank you for thinking of it though, it is very kind of you cheers Cass

How delightful. I have a multi-cat household, and there's never a day of boredom. I think you were lucky to get Fingal as he was to get you. I have one cat that will fetch candy wrappers. He hunts for one he might have missed. Thanks for participating.

Dear Mommy, Thank you for your review and the five stars. Your candy wrapper hunter is a gem to be sure. I used to have a lovely grey cat that adored olive pips. He would smell olives on my breath and go looking for the pips. So I always made sure I had one to give him. He would lick it, chew it and then drop it in his dish and woebe tide any other moggie that nicked it. Biffo for sure . Muffy was a cat that demanded respect . And respect he got. cheers Cass

Hi Cass. This is an amusing and well written piece. Cats are very clever and DO have a mind of their own. Love the name Fingal and his practice of retrieving the rubber band for you. Thank you for sharing. Marilyn

Dear Marilyn, thank you for your review and the five stars. We found the name in the baby's name book Katie had for her Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. He was a sweet natured little cat, never bossy or snappish , always gentle and a bit shy. We missed him when we had to let him go home to Heaven, but his life with us was very happy.
Cheers Cass

OH wow what a story, I love cats and they are so inquisitive and fun to watch. I had tears at the end and what a fitting gift. No problems noted and an excellent story

Dear Barb, thank you for your review and the five stars. Yes, it was sad to lose him so young, but we (Heath, my son and I ) comforted ourselves in knowing that the three years he spent with us were blissfully happy and that he wanted for nothing. I came home from a weekend in Melbourne to find him in a sorry state. We took him straight to the vet who said he had almost certainly eaten something poisonous. He suggested two courses of action, but we chose the merciful one of euthanasia. He was very special and we spoke of him often. Yours truly Cass

Dear Sanku Thank you for your review and the five stars. Altogether we had nineteen cats throughout the 55 years we were married. Now I am a widow and the last two are still with me. They are Rex a 12 year old black domestic short hair and Missy a sleek tabby who is nearly 4 years old. Before them we had a rabbit. He was 8 years old when he died and ruled the roost in a very territorial manner. When Bugsy died my husband wanted to get a cat, so we went to the Animal Welfare shelter and found two. They threw Rex in for $50.00 because he was an older cat, but he is so sweet and good natured he is a delight to have in the house.I would miss having pets so I commiserate with you. But if you have memories and photos they could be of some comfort in your pet -less state.
I hope so cheers Cass

I had four cats living with me at the same time. All of them wanted milk at 6AM and PM! 6 AM was no trouble since I get up before that .But Usually I lie down in the afternoon reading a book and i normally get up by 4 .All the cats will be waiting in the kitchen for their milk. But some days if the book is interesting i go on reading.I dont know how they know the time by four exactly one of them will jump onto my bed and sit looking at me. If I ignore him he will poke me with his paw and if I say what he will say meow and the other three will be on the floor looking up at me!.My god how I miss their antics. I am so glad to meet a fellow cat crazy person.

Thank you for your review and the five stars. Fingal was a lovely creature, very gentle and a bit shy, but full of fun. When Cindy got into trouble for doing something naughty she would always seek Fingal out and they'd sit and wash each other until she felt better. Or thought of something else to do. (even naughtier) Cheers Cass
