Your notes are so interesting in addition to your touching poem. The fate of runaway kids is gloomy, sad. Even kids who are well cared for can run away - influenced by their peers. Horribly sad.
I'm glad to hear there are organizations who try to help.

The disappearance of one is shocking, but the true numbers are alarming and heartbreaking... Thank you for your review, Gail!

I truly wish I could give you all my remaining sixes. As a parent of three, I could never imagine the void created by your loss. I have a dear friend who lost her son to drugs but was found and returned. Your loss carries such volumes of unknowing, thank you for bringing this unreported issue to the forefront.

Oh, J.L., this is not biographical (Praises!), but a friend of our family had their teen run away last summer and they still have no word or contact... and then I looked into the stats and it just breaks my heart because the disappearance of any is shocking, but the numbers are alarming and heartbreaking...
I have three of my own out there at school and such and I try so hard not to 'worry' between phone calls... especially once I learned all this... I just saw the theme of this contest, and this topic came ringing back so very loudly for Rach and for all...
Thank you for your huge heart and be sure to hug those three of yours every single time you can... even when they aren't all that receptive!! ;) :) :) Take care and have a terrific Tuesday!

In India too there is a shockingly large number of missing children cases. Most of them are not solved . May be they were victims of human trafficking ,Any way I always think of the mother when I hear about such cases. Like you aptly said a mothers heart is the prisoner of hope.

My favorite part was, "Prisoner of hope
That one day he'll return home ~" Because I could feel the longing in it! Reminds me of the movie, "The Changeling," as well! Love the picture and colors you used!

This is a well-written poem for the lost 575 contest. You have well described the sadness and hope that parents feel when they have a missing child.

Great job! Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.
