This 5-7-5 on something lost, A Mother's Heart, has the right set up and touches on the sensitive issue of loss of a child and not knowing where they are.

I cannot imagine being in your shoes. I pray that you will see your child again. So many children come up missing today, I'm not sure if the numbers have always been this high or if we are now made aware of the numbers because of the internet. It's so very sad and my heart cries for every parent who is on this journey.

No biographical, although we have a family here. It is an awful reality, though, when one looks at the actual numbers. Thank you so much for your review!

I watch the show, "In Pursuit," all the time and my heart goes out to those parents who have lost children due to abduction. I can't imagine such pain. The worst thing is not knowing what happened to loved ones. John Walsh is doing a great service with his work. Thank you for sharing this post. Marilyn

Wow, this one really tugs at the heartstrings. Even without the stark artwork, your words and phrases well paint a picture of fear and worry, tinged with hope as a mother, who can't lose hope. Good luck in the contest.

That is a wonderful poem about love and loss. Waiting for the one that was taken to be returned. It can be a lifetime of waiting and suffering, but at least you have the love you shared to remember.

That's what great mothers do. They don't give up or give in. They do their best to keep hope alive. I love the message of this and enjoyed reading this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

Hello Mystery Writer,
Your 5/7/5 poem dealing with the topic of "lost" is heartbreaking. I read another well-crafted poem today on the same topic. Your statistics are staggering. No answers. But I do know these situations occur, and I pray all missing and exploited children are found and returned... That sounds so trite, but that is my hope...
Thank you!

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about losing a child for whatever reason is the hardest thing a mother's heart must endure. She will keep hoping to meet her child once again.

That is so sad and yet beautifully written. I love your approach to the topic. It's not something that would have occurred to me and yet I feel many would be able to relate to the topic. All in all, I loved reading this poem.
