Perfect picture, and perfect words - a little thought can go a long way
There are times in our lives when we need strenth an just a small gesture can life out spirits and suddenly give us that lift that we need - these few words say so much - well done

Poets have their own settled instincts, and I hesitate to say anything to you. Yet, for what it is worth, I risk my perception (not yours):
I dicover a supreme harmony between the words and the symbolic painting. The dissonance in the poem is just right.

Poetry is an art: its beauty is solely in the eye of the 'beholder' ... or reader, as it were. The author's joy was in penning the piece and then simply enjoying all of the 'beholder' reactions... at least that's how I feel it should be, so thank you, Aaron, for your 'beholding' ... I am greatly honored! ;) Yvette

Sometimes forgiveness is really difficult to obtain in life dolorous state of mind that everything around you becomes black, deep, abyssal especially if bebore you have been subjugated to hell. Perfectly penned, set and fitted within the counted syllables required and beautifully narrated within its storylined content. Great work. you deserve it all.

Thanx so much, Tony, for your review and for your wonderful good wishes... forgiveness is one of those two-edged swords that cuts the bonds of both parties, yeah? Think the world could use a whole lot more of it rather than the 'live in vengeance' mode of social media... sigh. Have a Terrific Tuesday over there!! ;) ;) Yvette

another huge win and all time best!
congratulations! AND #3 in the rankings!
No wonder you are struggling to find time to grade papers, Ms Yvette.
I hope your students are aware of your writing prowess!! This message of yours would be good for them. Inspiring.
For me, it's a bit late. I think my feathers are molting.
No, really, it IS lovely and a very good thought to remember.
Have an enjoyable day off!

I'm glad you keep up with those things... because this crazy blonde does not! ;) You know, I didn't honestly know what that was all about until I got in the 'top ten for 2019'.... I have just so enjoyed the crazy place (even though once in a while there are some 'goobers' out there) because I've been able to be someone other than the mean ol' math teacher and can enjoy 'creating'! :) It's almost been liberating... but don't tell anybody that as they'll think I've got a screw loose! ;) Thanx so much for your review, Lady Katharine -- I do so enjoy 'hearing' from you and seeing the bright light in your smile there!! ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

I love this crazy place, too - spend hours writing things for it instead of things for mags. Well, I do some of that , too, but FS is more fun.
Can't believe you're a mean old anything, and am in awe of your mathematical mind. literary one, too.

Isn't THAT the truth. I do so worry about our country and what is coming down the pike, so to speak. Maybe we've been here before, but not in my lifetime. :)

Powerful word embodying equally powerful sentiments - forgiveness is a gem if only we could embrace it more fully in our lives - 15 syllables deserving a win !

This poem shows the strength and freedom faith brings a believer. Interesting artwork. I like the red background which is the color
of love and of the blood Christ spilled on the cross.
Congratulations on winning the contest, Yvette.
Keep writing.

This is so very true. Not just for the one forgiven but for the one forgiving as well. It cleanses both the heart and soul. A very well written poem.
